~ Hey, the dude never wanted to be a hero. ~
I have read about this movie in several places over
the last few months. It looks like it might be interesting
and I need a Western fix, REAL bad, so I picked it up
when I spotted it at Walmart for a price that is likely to
be a'way lower in the coming months.

The Ballad of Lefty Brown starring Bill Pullman and Peter
Fonda. I am betting that Mr. Fonda has a pretty small part
in this. We will see. It's always a gamble with movies like
this. They could be incredible or incredibly bad or if it is
incredibly bad and you are lucky, it will be
incredibly bad good.

Pennies have been kind of tight lately and I was really trying
to choose a movie that I really want to see. It was a tough
decision this go 'round.

Here is an Oscar Mayer Wiener Whistle. All I know about
this whistle is that it has been popping up from time to time
in my life and it has been doing that since I was a little kid.

It is not in very good shape as wiener whistles go, but it
has been though a lot. Now you may be saying to yourself,
"Self, isn't wiener spelled w-e-i-n-e-r?" I think it is spelled
either way, but the on the whistle itself it is
spelled w-i-e-n-e-r.

You can juuuuust make it out on the whistle.
So that is what I am going with.

I am going to keep this going for another day. This
is a little snare drum lapel pin that my music teacher
gave to me for my birthday when I was about
twelve or thirteen. I loved my music teacher and
I thank my mom very much for putting out her
hard earned money so that I could go to him.

In keeping with yesterday's theme, here is
a little lapel pin that I bought at a gun show.

The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative
Action sent this lapel pin to me some thirty years ago.

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" was released and I got up bright
and early to get my copy on Blu-ray. The Target store
edition came with a 40-page behind the scenes booklet and
I wanted to get that, and I did. I watched the movie again
tonight and I had a GREAT time with it.

This movie is getting a lot of hate. I can understand that
a liiiiiiiiiiittle bit, but not all THAT much. I can't say why
I understand though without some spoilers, so forget that.

I still LOVE the interactions between Kylo and Rey. I pretty
much can't wait to see that again. Lightspeed this time around
was awesome to see. Anyway, I am really glad to have this in
my collection and I will be watching
The Last Jedi again, and again.

I rate this movie 9.5 out of 10 Kylo Temper Tantrums.

I found another one!
I've got the vapors.

And a pretty nice place to sit and eat
my exquisite Little Caesars pizza.
It was a little overcast today.
I am full and happy.

My mom gave this to me.

I bought this little copper cup last October
just because I want to see it get old and tarnished.

Sunday, March 11, 2018

Here is something that I have had for some years that
is kind of fun. I have never even seen Indiana Jones and
the Raiders of the Lost Ark but I DO want to see it someday.
I want to pick up the entire series on Blu-ray...

This is a 3 Inch Titanium/Die-Cast Series Cargo Truck from
that movie. It was released by Hasbro in 2008 and is no
longer in production. It is about 3 inches long.

And this must be happening at some point in the movie.
Indiana Jones is dragging behind the truck.
That is dangerous, man.

Here is little Indy in action.
Someday I will know why he is doing this.

I was out and about today and spotted some
beautiful bougainvillea climbing up a wall.
I love bougainvillea and had to take a picture.

Cannot thin herd. Skulls will get me.

"Come and take it."
Just a patch I bought the last time I was at the
Army Navy store. I don't have an AR-15, but
I always wanted one. Still do want one.

This is a Mattel Hot Wheels Die Cast Star Wars Snowspeeder.
The Snowspeeder is of course my second favorite vehicle from
the saga. I bought this when "The Force Awakens" was released
a few years ago. The vehicle itself is die-cast and a little "weighty".
The two forward-facing laser cannons are plastic. The stand it is on
also doubles as the"Flight Navigator". More on that in a minute.

I paid something like $4.00 for this and they have not really gone
up in value at all. I have seen them in stores for about what I paid
years ago. So I decided to just go ahead and open this to display which
is something I don't usually do. Of course, after I opened it up I saw it
listed on Amazon.com for $90.00. That is ridiculous.

Oh yeah, this is how to use the "Flight Navigator".
It is kinda small for my finger so no
navigating for me. Dang!

I had big plans.

Flight Navigator aside, if you like Snowspeeders
and find this for a few dollars, worth it.

Mmmmmmm.... Bacon in the Lodge cast iron
today. Yeah.... I know we have seen it before.
But does it not smell good?

I was sitting at my computer tonight when I turned around
and looked out the window. The sunset was really nice. I took
a picture as fast as I could before it disappeared. There is some
reflection on the glass but that sky sure looks beautiful.

When I was over at Fry's Electronics I bought this DVD. "Mother
Truckers: The Convoy Collection 2". I really like trucker movies.
That is, movies about the trucker life and fightin' and lovin' and drivin'
in the country and the desert and all of that. There are three movies
on this DVD and my bank account is lighter by $7.50.

Now, call me naive but I thought I was getting a
couple of  maybe not so great "Smokey and the Bandit",
"Convoy" or "White Line Fever" movies.
Noooot really.

I watched "The CB Hustlers" tonight and it is the lowest budgetest
late-night drive-in movie you can imagine. The picture is bad, the
audio is terrible, the songs are rejects from porn movies and...

...IT. WAS. AWESOME.

Not good, but so much fun. Yeah, too many boobs, but the rest is
so much great imitation redneckedness. The description says the movie
is 85 minutes long. Not hardly. It is 75 minutes long. This type of movie
brings back so many memories. I can't wait to watch the other two
movies: "Queens of the Road" and "Trucker's Woman". I hope they are
as bad as "The CB Hustlers". I am going to rate this movie,
for what it is... 10 out of 10 "You Got Yer Ears On?"s.

"Braille And Picture Menus Available"
I took this picture late at
night a few years ago.
I think it is In-N-Out Burger,
ooorrrrr... maybe Jack in the Box.

Saturday, March 3, 2018

From my 2010 visit to the Gene Autry Museum of Western
Heritage in Griffith Park, California. This hat belonged to
a working cowboy in the 1970s or 80s. It is a Resistol
and looks like it was loved well. That is all I know.

Friday, March 2, 2018

They were charging an arm and a leg for "Don't Breathe"
not too long ago. It is supposed to be a pretty good movie.
Walmart dropped the price to five dollars so I picked it up.

Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.com. I'm not even
quite sure what that means other than, I guess the fresher it
is, the better it is? Not sure. I don't put too much stock
into these places anyway. Half the time the voting
is rigged in one way or another.

I did watch it and it was good. Pretty dang good. It stars Stephen
Lang. Mr. Lang starred as Ike Clanton in "Tombstone". He always
gets a pass from me for that alone. This movie is about three young
folks who break into the home of a sightless veteran thinking that
stealing his fortune will be a cakewalk. Nope. The vet can "see" it the
dark, the young folks can't. It goes from there. Oh yes, there is a pretty
good twist too. Those are fun. Totally really worth five dollars.
I will give this movie 6.5 or 7 out of 10 "Who Is The Good Guy?"'s.

I was actually yelling at the screen during some parts.

!! Happy National Pig Day 2018 !!
To celebrate National Pig Day I am posting a picture
of a piggy bank that was given to me a long time ago.
This is another one of those things that I don't pay much
attention to, but when I see it I am really happy to have
it and it reminds me of the person who gave it to me.
