This is a postcard I bought in Yosemite in the
mid 1960's. It features a picture of the "Fire Fall".

The "Fire Fall" was started in 1872 and continued until 1968.
It was discontinued because it eventually drew too many
spectators and the crowds practically ripped Yosemite a new
one with all of their trampling and messes.

It was a hot afternoon. We decided to
stop into Denny's...

...for an ice cold glass of ice tea. Not really
a glass though. More like a plastic. Not quite
as enticing, but still good for a hot day.

I'd been wanting to go to the Container Store for over
a year, ever since I had heard about the place.
My mom wanted to go as well...

So we took the day and went. I was hoping just to find some
lotion bottles. I am picky about what kind I use and I have not
found any I like... anywhere. Hopefully here I would
find one, or some.

I also wanted a container for some of the blankets that I don't
always use but want to have at hand if I need them.

They have lots of containers alright. And baskets too.

And clothes hangers by the hundreds. And trunks.

Lot's of cleaning supplies for the home as well. Just lots of stuff.
No good lotion containers though, none even to speak of. They
seem to have a lot of the same kind of containers from small to
really large, but they are all the same KIND of containers, just
different brands is all. So if you do not want the kind of containers
they have, you are outta luck.

My mom picked up an extending pole with an attachment
to clean the ceiling fans and an attachment to change light
bulbs as well, both between 20 and 25 feet high.

I was hemming and hawing about buying this little Swiss-Tech
plier/screwdriver tool that I found in the impulse section. It was
about $8.50 and I was being wishy-washy about it because of
cash being in shorter supply these days.

Mom said, "Get it. I'll buy it for you." "SOLD!" said I.
Thanks mom. Yer a pal!

These are pretty nice pliers. The whole thing was
dang stiff so I slicked it up a little with some Hoppe's
gun oil and now she is as happy as a pig in..... mud.

We had a nice day and we don't need to go back
to the Container Store for a long while.

I was going to watch "Fury" with Brad Pitt tonight, but I got
a really late start and decided to watch a movie more suited
for late night. Something (slightly) scary. "Mountaintop Motel
Massacre". I have not watched this one since I bought it in 2011.

All I can say about this movie is that these guys should just go ahead
and at least TRY to move that tree that is blocking the road keeping
them from leaving the remote mountaintop motel and
get the Hell out of Dodge...

...because this chick be CRAZY.
Worth a buy and a watch.

A photo taken at one of our favorite stores ever, the Indian
Store. Some of their steer skulls. I used to have one or two
of these. I think they got lost somewhere during life's events.
Or maybe I have them in a box or two around here someplace.

Anyway, yeah, the Indian Store. Boss City.

I decided today that some hot dogs sounded good.

This is the way that I like them.

Hot dogs with bacon. Even better!

Shmooshed and greasy and these can't be
good for me but I am good with it today.

I had to eat them fast. The bugs were feeling
their oats on this hot afternoon.

Money has been kind of tight lately for one reason or
another so instead of buying a few of the newer and more
expensive releases that I want, I have been stretching my
dollars a bit by buying more budget friendly
DVDs and Blu-rays.

This week I actually found two over at Walmart that I have
been searching for. "Beyond Skyline"... This sequel to "Skyline"
is a guilty pleasure that I have had on my Amazon Wish List for
a while. I found it in the $5.00 bin. That's about ten dollars
cheaper than on Amazon. Hip hip! The second feature is
"The 5th Wave" on DVD. It is not going to be great, but I am
hoping it will be fun. Chloƫ Grace Moretz is in it and I like her.

And I found a copy of "Urban Cowboy" for $3.74. I had to
buy it to have a backup to my backup to my backup DVDs.
I just love Bud and Sissy. But this low price.... Insult to the
movie. And when the heck are they going to give it up and
release a Blu-ray for this movie. C'mon you guys. DO IT.

And as for the newer release movies on DVD and Blu-ray
that I want and can't afford right now? Things will swing
back and I WILL have them. You betch'ya.

I don't know who this lady in the Memorial
Day parade is, but she is heeled and cool.

Let us revisit "The Cabin in the Woods".
On second thought, let us not. It sucks.

Especially the narcissistic doper.

Momma rat update: She is gone.
Life can finally get back to normal around here.

And now I don't have to worry about
spelling "momma" wrong anymore.

The movie "Baby Driver" on Blu-ray finally came
down to $9.99 so I picked it up. I heard good things.

I took this picture on the L.A. Universal Studios Tour
sometime around 1968 or 1969. Best I can remember
it is just a display of some miniatures on a sound
stage. Not a very good picture. The tour was pretty
primitive then. Nothing like it is now.
I liked it fine.

I took that photo with my Polaroid Swinger camera
(that I still have). Not the best camera in the world for
not the best picture taker in the world. I found this
photograph of a Swinger camera on the Internet.
Someday I should post a picture of mine.

I found more .22 ammunition at Walmart. I couldn't believe
my eyes. There was LOT'S of .22 ammo on the shelf. I really
can't afford it right now, but I could not afford NOT to either.
So I bought 2 boxes for a total of 200 rounds. I will eventually
use it. THIS time when I made the purchase they entered some
information from my driver's license into their system for the
transaction. This is intrusive. I will leave it at that.

I also bought the movie "Fury" on Blu-ray. I like Brad Pitt and
I like (for better or for worse) Shia LaBeouf as well. And
Michael "End of Watch" PeƱa is a favorite too. It is a "blind
buy" in a time of I really can't afford to blind buy, but we will see.

Momma Rat update. Well, Momma Rat is pretty comfortable
with me coming into the shed and talking to her and taking
flash pictures. One of these days I will go out there and she
will be gone, which will be good.

When the movie "Terminator Salvation" was released in 2009, this was
the best they could do for a less than expensive figure from the movie.
This is a Playmates T-R.I.P. (Terminator - Resistance Infiltrator Prototype)
six inch figure. I watched the movie again recently and I enjoyed it a lot
more this time around. Christian Bale takes everything so seriously.

I love that guy.
