I was watching the old "Father Knows Best" show
the other day. This episode was from 1956. This is
Bud Anderson taking a little walk down the street.

Oh look! It's Kathy Anderson aka
Kitten not far behind.

A little later Bud is taking his jalopy for a dangerous ride.
What do these pictures have in common? Well.... In the
background of all of them is one of my all time favorite
houses... EVER...

Roger Murtaugh's home from the "Lethal Weapon" movie
series. This house is on Blondie Street at the Warner
Brothers Ranch lot in Burbank California.
(Trivia: That house seen just above the white van is
the home of Darren and Samantha Stevens
from the "Bewitched" television show.)

Who'd a'thunk that thirty-one years after Bud Anderson
went cruising by that Martin Riggs and Roger would be
walking into this house as Roger says, "Riggs, if you
think I'm gonna eat the world's lousiest Christmas turkey
by myself, you're crazy."

This house is on my Holy Grail Visit List although I most
likely never will. If you have ever driven by the Disney
Channel Building on the 134 Freeway in Burbank,
you can see where Roger's house is in relation to that.
Just a couple blocks over.

"I'm too old for this sh_t."

Today is Avengers Day here at El Rancho De La Tex.
I went to town and bought my Blu-ray copy of
"Avengers: Endgame".

Borden Cinema!

I have a couple of these big tin stars. I keep meaning to
hang them up outside so they will get old and rusty.

I figure that I will do that someday.

How to clean the restrooms at Tastee-Freez, Wienerschnitzel
and Hamburger Stand (whatever that is).

A while back I had written about and shared a photo of a small
show that I went to see in 2010; Debbie Reynolds in her one
woman show. It was really really good. I had also written
that after the show I was able to meet her and she signed
the program I had purchased. This is the page that she signed.

When you are in the presence of a person like Debbie
Reynolds. you know what true talent and professionalism
looks and feels like.

I drew this too. I'm kind of a professional.

I couldn't find a Blu-ray or DVD movie that
was affordable today so I bought deodorant.

This is a scan of a souvenir decal I bought when I went
to the Meteor Crater in Arizona. This was in the mid
1960's. This crater is impressive.... in a scary way.

I KNEW it.

Friday, July 19, 2019

Not very colorful but kind of nice.
I would like to take a hose to it.

Tuesday, July 16, 2019

I did something that I never thought that I would
do. I finished a container of Flavacol, the ingredient
that they say is the secret to "movie theater popcorn"
at home. Sooooooo.... I bought more from

One 35 ounce container is $7.47 which is a pretty darn
good price for how long it lasts. A little goes a long way
as they say. But I bought two 35 ounce containers for
only $10.89. I scored free shipping because I piggy backed
my order on something my son had ordered. Good deal.

This stuff is really worth using IF you use an easily washed
utensil to pop your corn. Flavacol is very fine and gets
into nooks and crannies like no tomorrow. I never used it
with my beloved Whirley Pop because cleanup was a BEAR.

Let Go and Let God.

Yes, we have been here before.
But it is SO good to visit again.
I love to have iron in my diet.

The pancakes don't LOOK that good,
but they WERE good.
Delicious actually.

My view was kind of hazy today.

I should just flip a coin
and get it over with.

I'm getting dizzy.

I made this at

Monday, July 1, 2019

I saw the preview for "Skyscraper" in the theater when it
was new and it looked pretty good. Scary high stuff. But
I didn't want to spend the ticket price to see it. I wanted to
wait for the Blu-ray. I watched the Blu go from about $24
(too much) to about $22 (too much) to about $12 (too much)
and today... I scored at $9.96 (almost just right).

Who knows though... After I see it $22 may seem right. On
the other hand, $5 may seem too much. I will find out.

Just the cover makes me dizzy. Can't wait to see it.

...later that night.
I watched the movie. A LOT of fun. $9.96 is about
the perfect price. I rate Skyscraper 7.3 out of 10 Pearls.

That snake is street wise.

They will get way out of hand fast
if not taken care of. But I love cactus
taken care of or way out of hand.

Gophers... they crawl in but they don't crawl out.

This "American and Proud" sticker has been around here
for a long time. I don't know how we came into possession
of it. It was originally given out by the Good Sam RV Club.

It's shiny.

This is a postcard that I got from the Andersen's Split
Pea Soup restaurant in Buellton CA sometime in the
mid 1960's. We only went there a few times. To me
it was like going to Disneyland, and I loved the soup.
I remember crackers and cheese and
croutons, free samples.

I remember a wine cellar, I think that is what it was.
Going down the stairs to the cellar was like exploring
the caves on Tom Sawyer's Island at the Disney Park.

...It is probably not near as great as my memories,
but we had a lot of fun there. Loved Hap-Pee and
Pee-Wea too.

Again, I scanned this post card big so if you
would like to open it up in a new window...

P.S. Look at poor little Pea-Wee's cheek. He has
a band-aid on it. Apparently Hap-Pea is a little
careless with the mallet. Pea-Wee needs
some Cal/OSHA.

Sunday, June 9, 2019

So am behind this car today... on an 85 plus degree day...
in brush fire country... and this ding dong has his cigarette
hanging out of the car's window.

Don't be a ding dong.

After I had seen "The Kid" in the theater I wrote that I would buy the
Blu-ray or DVD when it came down to $5.00. I lied. I saw it and I wanted
it, so I bought it. It's a Western. I have no defense other than that.

"Brawl in Cell Block 99" on the other hand... I heard really good things
about this movie AND about Vince Vaughn. But the movie was always
twelve dollars or more and I could not pull the trigger on it for that price.
Today it was in the $5.00 bin at Walmart. So tonight I will finally see it.

Huzzah and HIP HIP!

Saturday, June 1, 2019

Years ago I had one of those cheap little key-chain
recorders, the kind that you might use to remember
where you parked, etc.... Ancient tech. Anyway, I had it
one day while I was down in our canyon shooting. This
audio is just a few rounds fired and then
holstering my pistol.

It was just a... a.... I don't know thing.

Friday, May 31, 2019

Hi baby.

Thursday, May 30, 2019

I don't know what kind of cactus this is, but
it is beautiful. Unfortunately the picture does
not show all the really rich pink colors at the
top of each stem. Still, cool looking I think.

Wednesday, May 29, 2019

It's always nice to see the grapes coming in.
It is a beautiful sunny day.
Seventy-six degrees.

Say hello.

~ Memorial Day, 2019 ~

Thursday, May 23, 2019

 Not a review.
The movie "Peppermint" came down in price so I bought it.
I heard that this movie was pretty good so I had waited for
it to come down for a while now. I watched it and it was
yeah.... pretty good. Not great, but pretty good.

They attempted to make Jennifer Garner a bad ass, but she
wasn't quite there. Not as kick ass as Milla or Michelle or
Scarlett. She was pretty tough but....

And that is why I wanted Peppermint. I love seeing kick
ass characters like John Wick and Robert McCall and Eli
and Jack Reacher. This movie was fun and I will watch
it again someday, but it was just not quite as there
as some of the others.

But I WILL rate "Peppermint" 6.6 out of 10 Ice Cream Cones.

Pay no more than $7.50 and you got yerself a score.

Monday, May 20, 2019

 A dreary day outside.

But inside the weather is

No spoilers. And there can be MAJOR spoilers.
I give Endgame 9.5 out of 10 what else?
Infinity Stones.

Afterwards? Little Caesars $5.00 goodness.

My son bought this awesome Friday the 13th Camp
Crystal Lake Running Team graphic Tee for me.

I like. No, strike that. I LOVE.

That is a photo of the front of the shirt.

Back in the day I never really thought that we would
have old satellite dishes just laying around
waiting to be junked.
