It was a nice night for a fire, even if the fire was
just a burning Duraflame log. That was all that
was needed for tonight.

Everybody I work with loves these things. I like heat
but I am generally not into the lime thing. It hurts my
senses. But at Walmart I finally impulse
bought this bag to try.

We will see if the lime sour makes my mouth contort.

A nice Christmas gift and
year round thought.

Thank you to my friend at work

I bought "Rambo: Last Blood" on Blu-ray. As I wrote when
I went to see it (I HAD to) in the theater in October, I liked it,
I didn't love it. But I knew I would buy it when it came out as I
want to complete my "Rambo" collection. "Rambo 4" (2008)
has been my favorite so far...

 John!
The back of the Blu-ray.

Will this be the last of John Rambo?
I hope not.

That's right. "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" will be released
to theaters on December 20th and shortly thereafter I will be seeing
it during my Annual Birthday Extravaganza. Tonight I will be watching
"The Last Jedi" in preparation for the event. Life is good.

EBT Welcome.
Jack in the Box.

Happy Friday the 13th,
December 2019!

And of course my movie choice for tonight is
1993's "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday".
Pictured above on the Borden Cinema screen
is Jason Voorhees doing his very best to dispatch
one Steven Freeman. Will he do it?
No spoilers here.

Fun thing to watch out for: Creighton Duke's
method of payment for the information Steven needs.

A friend was telling me about a candy called "Kinder Sorpresa".
I was curious about them so she brought me one.
The candy starts out looking like what you see above.

Inside the wrapper is a delicious looking chocolate.
I am all over that.

But wait! That chocolate is actually not through and
through, not solid. It is just a shell concealing a strange
looking capsule. What the hay?

Pop that capsule open and peek inside. There is a puzzle toy
in there. Take all the parts out, follow the instructions and...

...Ta-daaaaa!!!! THIS guy is in there.
That is dang cool.

!!! BUT BEWARE !!!
Why is Kinder Sorpresa banned in the United States?
"The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act prohibits confectionery
products which contain a “non-nutritive object”, unless the non-nutritive
object has functional value. Kinder Sorpresa eggs are legal in Canada
and Mexico, but are illegal to import into the US."

Oh man. I guess we had better keep today's entry on the down low.
And thank you to my friend for thinking of me.
I never take that for granted.

It is also the time of year for toy trains that
travel in circles around Christmas trees.

!!! TUESDAY BONUS PICTURE !!!
Guess what?! Pictured above is yet another "Father Knows Best"
episode that has Roger Murtaugh's house from the "Lethal Weapon"
movie series in the background. The episode was titled
"Betty Goes to College" and first aired in 1956. You are looking
at Robert Young as James Anderson and Billy Gray
as the young Bud Anderson.

I believe that this location was also Gidget's (Sally Field, "Gidget" 1965-1966)
home as well as the Baxter home from the "Hazel" (1961-1966) television show
starring Shirley Booth. But as I wrote before, it will always
be Lethal Weapon for me.

It's time for cute Christmas ornaments.
This is a new one to me.

I found a few leftover Black Friday deals at Walmart.
These are all movies I have been planning to buy when
the time was right. The time was right, or at least semi-
right. No extraordinary prices, but okay.
They are all DVDs.

"Annabelle Comes Home" was the most expensive
at $7.96. I expect it will be in the $5.00 bin within
a few months, but I want to see it NOW, dang-it all.

"The Nun" was $5.00 and that is most likely priced right.

"Glass" was $5.96. We will see how that pans out.

Of course, if I LOVE any of these movies a Blu-ray
upgrade will most likely be in the future.

"T" is for...

...Tex.

I bought both of these at some gun show
or another,  a number of years ago.
I like the boot.

~ Happy Thanksgiving 2019 ~

Sunday, November 17, 2019

I've been getting into some Eddie Murphy lately as
there has been (or is it have been? I don't know...) some
of his movies in the $3.74 and $5.00 bins at Walmart.
"The Golden Child" was in the $3.74 bin and was
totally worth it. A lot of fun if you get the chance.

I will rate El Golden Child 7.2 out of 10 "Chosen Ones".

Must have been a long trip.

 Rain on the ground...

...rain on the hill...

...brings cute little frogs to the wall at night.

The frog was being very patient, but I still
could not get a very good picture of him.

The lucky coin I bought on January 2nd, 2017 during
my Birthday Week Extravaganza. It has been sitting
at the bottom of my purse only to be seen every few
months. Not too worse for wear. Most of that whatever-
it-is-called rubs off with a little elbow grease which
I do not have today.

When "The Meg" starring Jason Statham (who I LOVE) was first
released to theaters I really wanted to see it. But after seeing some
trailers I became less excited for one reason or another. Later after
some discussion online, I was encouraged to to give it a chance.
That was some time ago. Today I found the DVD on sale for not
so much so I picked it up. I am anxious to watch it.

It is a pretty bare bones copy but at least they had a little fun with
the inside. I think that is kind of rare with a DVD like this.

Great home theater decorations at Hobby Lobby. I had
to put my blinders on and leave the store before
I bought another something that I have no room for.

The battery in my much loved Samsung Galaxy S6 phone finally
got tired and went to sleep for the last time. I had to replace the
phone immediately of course. I went with the Galaxy S10+.
I am dang happy with it. It takes pretty good photographs too.

I love my phone as I am sure many of you do love your phone.

I taped this Post-It note to my computer desk about two and a half
years ago to remind me that I need to update my driver's license
to the new Real ID. I just kept putting it off after hearing that the
lines for getting it (appointment or not) were 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 hours
long. Well, I FINALLY made an appointment as my license expires
very soon and I was able to get an appointment for about three weeks
from the date of my request.

Long story short, I had all of my documents ready to go. I went in, had
my vision test, had my photo taken, I had my renewal upgraded to the
Real ID and from start to finish I was in the DMV for.............................
...................................................................................... 25 minutes.

I am thankful and I am now going to tear up the Post-It note.

The George Lawrence Company was established in 1857 in
Portland, Oregon. I believe they went out of business in the late
1980's. Fortunately I acquired a holster, gunbelt and the above
item before they did. Pictured here is a custom made spare
cylinder pouch. The spare cylinder being from a Ruger Single
Six .22 / .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire pistol.

Most of the time I use this pouch to hold a ton of .22 ammunition
on my belt. It makes it really easy to just reach down for more ammo
when needed. I have had this pouch for about thirty-six years.

Fine Western leather, yum.
It just keeps getting better.

As is our custom, for my son's birthday we went to play
miniature golf. After the eighteen holes we played a few
games in the arcade. Last year my son came home
with a giraffe. This year...

...he brought a snake home.
Awwwww... Pretty pretty snake.

Another from our visit to the Zoppé Italian Family Circus in September.
This is Carmen Rosales and her husband Jorge Rosales. They
juggle in the circus with three of their five children.
They are a LOT of fun.

You can see Nino the Clown back there in the green pants.
He wants desperately to be a part of the act and they keep
shooing him away. They will not let him join in. It is funny
and sad at the same time. But it all works out in the end.

Happy Halloween 2019!
- From Lizzy Tex Borden -

Wednesday, October 30, 2019

It's good to see that Ghostface is still a favorite.
The SCREAM movie franchise is a LOT of fun.

Cheer up Mr. Lincoln from The Purge...

Happy Haunting!

Pennywise is weak.

The Collector is not.

Monday, October 28, 2019

The sun is starting to set as we enter the last
Spirit Store of our Annual Halloween Crawl.

As with most years, the body parts are pretty
much lacking in number and any sort of realism.

 But the giant scissors
are in GREAT form.
