BUD & SISSY
~ TEXAS ~

The day our gourd became self-aware.

A friend of mine went to the SHOT Show in Las Vegas
this year and brought back a few fun things for me. Above
is a really great patch from the Ontario Knife Co.

I don't have any of their knives. Not because I don't WANT
one, but because I don't know which one I WANT. I have
had a couple on my Amazon Wish List for years.
Anyway, REALLY nice patch.

One of the other things he brought back for me is this poker
chip from CMC Triggers. CMS makes drop in triggers (upgrades)
for rifles and some pistols. I am not totally familiar with the
product.

The back side....
He also brought some great 2019 catalogs for knives,
firearms, holsters and such for me to peruse. Thanks
so much for thinking about me again this year my friend.

"The Exorcist III" played at Borden Cinema tonight.
If you have ever seen The Exorcist III you no doubt
have seen... "that scene". If you have never seen The
Exorcist III, it is worth watching if for nothing else
than experiencing... "that scene".

I think this movie is pretty darn scary, and GOOD.

Lots of fun things to look out for, but for this movie I will
say, Fun Thing To Look Out For: The Dream Blind Man.

(Yes, that is a young Brad Dourif onscreen,
and as usual, he is really great.)

On Tuesday, January 15 I bought my own copy of
Halloween 2018. That is the latest Halloween movie.

John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis teamed up again.
A Halloween movie dream come true.

Tonight I watched it and I enjoyed it even more than
when I saw it in the theater. It is fun finding the Easter
Eggs and doggone it, most of the characters save for one
("I got peanut butter on my penis!") I really like and care
about. That is slightly rare. I cannot rate it yet. I have
to watch it again. Loved Will Patton.

Pictured above is my McFarlane Toys Movie Maniacs
Series 2 Michael Myers figure. This is one of the first figures
I ever bought. Got him probably sometime before the year
2000. And believe me, that was another life. WAY another.
Anyway, okay figure. GREAT Halloween 2018 movie.

Fun To Look For: P.J. Soles.

I bought this steer skull Christmas ornament clearance
priced for about two dollars or something like that. To
me though it is a year round hanger arounder. And it will.

Sunday, January 20, 2019

Nope. We are done with this.

Saturday, January 19, 2019

I don't know.... Maybe it is because we have not seen much
rain around here lately that I am all about the water pictures,
but I have another "rain still not evaporated completely" photo.
It looks... refreshing to me. For some reason I left
this photo its original size. I have never done that before.

Some leftover rain.

Thursday, January 17, 2019

Rainy day. We had another rock slide on our
road today, or during the night, or whenever. This
one was real small. I hope I never get hit by a boulder.

Yes, I had McDonald's in the rain. I ate it pretty gingerly
though. With all of the dental work I have had done
lately it is kind of tricky to dodge all of the sore spots.

For the last few years around my birthday I have visited
Comics-N-Stuff and if I am lucky I find a little something
in the bin of small miscellaneous used items.

This year I found a little X-34 Landspeeder that belonged to
Luke Skywalker. I didn't know until I got it home and
opened it that when you put it down and pull it backwards
the wheels will wind up and if you let it go the thing
will go FLYING (across the table)!

The awesome back view.

It was evidently made for Burger King kid's meals in 2005.

It looks fun along with a few other things that I have found
on birthdays past. The Millennium Falcon is my favorite.

Halloween 2018 was released on Blu-ray today so I got up
bright and early to buy my very own copy. I will be watching
it again very soon.

I took this picture in the parking lot of my dentist. I was waiting
to go into an appointment for the pulling of another tooth. That is
one a week for three weeks now if I remember right. It is all becoming
a big haze. I hope that this will be the last tooth pulled until about three
or four weeks from now. My dentist is trying to get me to have my final
wisdom tooth removed. Ack. $$$$.

Anyway.... Halloween 2018... Hoorah!!!!!

~ DOUBLE TAP ~
Which is against the rules (for civilians) at
most of the ranges I have been to.

Tuesday, January 8, 2019

When I went to the mall I had a Wetzel's Pretzel.
I had not had one for a year and it was dang good.

It was a pepperoni/jalapeno pretzel. And what made
it taste even better was the fact that it was free. When
you download the Wetzel's Pretzels app to your phone, you are
automatically rewarded a free pretzel. And after you purchase
six pretzels? Another free one. So I have something to look
forward to in six years. Thug life, man.

The Regal Theater where I saw the movie "Passengers"
two years ago. No movie today though.

As a follow up to yesterday's post:
A closer-up of Santa's large ornaments.
Impressive.

Sunday, January 6, 2019

Sorry Kids! Santa is GONE. It is over.

By the way... When Santa's trees are
too tall? His contract with the mall
says, "You gotta drill a hole."

Saturday, January 5, 2019

I made a trip to Boot Barn and bought a
Carhartt Hat that I really needed...

...and also whatever this thing is.

Friday, January 4, 2019

Whenever I see this (which is not often) sitting on the
counter, in the back off my mind I am just assuming that
somebody is enjoying a glass of eggnog.

Hours later when the glass is still there, I realize it is
.... a candle. It has fooled me about three times now.

It won't do it again. One of my
Life Goals is to ensure that it doesn't.

Thursday, January 3, 2019

I had to leave and didn't have time to see just how much
more this thing would curl up so I broke it off and left.

Wednesday, January 2, 2019

I went to see "The Mule" starring Clint Eastwood.

Tuesday, January 1, 2019

Happy New Year 2019 from the
folks at El Rancho De La Tex.

Monday, December 31, 2018

The last day of 2018 is proving to be a slightly wet one,
which is always good for 'ol California. And
it's been a heck of a year, hasn't it?

Sunday, December 30, 2018

A Jimi Hendrix poster I earned selling magazine
subscriptions when I was in the seventh grade.

I wasn't too experienced then, but I started
becoming experienced shortly thereafter.

Friday, December 28, 2018

Just a (real) short. Cooking up a few taters.

The payoff.

Thursday, December 27, 2018

My son made sure that it snowed every night at
El Rancho De La Tex during November and December.

Wednesday, December 26, 2018

Well, I had another tooth pulled today. This one hurt quite a bit
afterwards, but it is a good kind of hurt as it is resolving an issue
that has given me a lot of pain for the last nine days.

Look at all that gauze. I think I was suppose to bleed a lot.
I go back in five days to have the stitches removed.

A better picture of the beautiful
Christmas tree in my dentist's office.

~ Merry Christmas 2018 from Lizzy Tex Borden ~

Santa, stop here.

Wednesday, December 12, 2018

On the way home from work last night one of
my teeth felt kind of funny. Today it was pulled.

That was WAY out of the blue.

The Christmas tree in my dentist's office.

"Citizen! There is nowhere to run. Please immediately
return to the store with the stolen merchandise. An
officer will be waiting for you. Failure to comply
will result in physical intervention.
I repeat: Citizen!..."

Chucky and Tiffany hanging out in a box.

Damn.

Thursday, December 6, 2018

It's Mission Impossible Day here at The Ranch!
I had seen "Mission Impossible: Fallout" at the
theater and KNEW I was going to buy the Blu-ray
when it was released.... and I did. This is the sixth
Mission in the series and it does not let down.

The booklet is small enough to fit in the Blu-ray case
and is ten pages (including the cover and back). It
has photos of some of the stunts and descriptive
quotes about them. One of them says that Tom Cruise
learned to fly a helicopter just for this movie. I didn't
know that this little booklet came with the movie so it
was a pleasant little surprise.

I watched the movie again and it was great fun the
second time around. I rate this movie nine out of
ten Broken Ankles.

Wednesday, December 5, 2018

I went to the movies on this rainy day. All of my Regal
Crown Club points are set to expire next month. I need
to go to a few movies so they are not wasted.

The "Possession of Hannah Grace". Bad choice. Bad bad choice.
I think they were banking on yet another girl who could contort her
body while they added some bone cracking noises to make this movie
scary. It did not work. Went nowhere. I've seen worse. But.... If you
want to see this movie, wait until it shows up in the $3.74 bin at
Walmart. Because it will. I rate this movie 4.5 out of 10 Xanax.

A little rain.
