Time to do a little spring cleaning
so the boys are having a bath.

And just to make a little more room en la casa, they
will have a new place of honor in the garage. They
are quite comfortable here.

I bought this Colt Firearms key chain screwdriver
at a gun show. There was a whole bucket of them
and they were cheap.

I was not thinking when I did not
buy a bunch of them.

My mom cut this out and gave it to me.
It's not true though. The cane would go in the
lower rack, the rifle or shotgun above.

~  Memorial Day 2020 ~

Wednesday, May 20, 2020

When he was little my son gave this to me for Christmas.

This is a 12 gauge shotgun shell holder that was made for cowboy
action shooting. I bought it years ago for a side by side shotgun
that I had. As you can tell by the price tag that is still attached
to it, I never used it.

Not a very beautiful piece, just functional... maybe.

When I took a picture of this particular cactus a few
weeks ago, I had no idea that it was about to get happy.

!!! Avocado Seed Update: Number Four !!!

Nuthin.

On Saturday February 1st I put this avocado seed
in water and posted a photo. I will update again
when something (or nothing) happens. It's fun!

Wait a minute...

This has been going on long enough. Apparently this
seed is not going to do anything. Sooooooooo.....

I am going to start posting updates on THIS avocado
seed that I planted on February 15th . This seed IS
growing. So from now on I will be posting pictures
of this one. Let's see where it will go. Stay tuned!

Strolling through the parking lot one day,
in the merry merry month of May.

I have been wanting to see "Hell Fest" since it came out in late
2018, but they were charging a LOT for it. I didn't want to pay
that much so I waited. And today? Walmart? Five dollar bin. Mine!

When this movie was first released, people were all OVER it. But
in the year and a half or so since, it has gotten mixed reviews. I watched
it and thought it was fun. The atmosphere was pretty dang good.
Totally worth five dollars. No.spoilers.

I will watch it again in a few years when I forget a lot of what happens.
I will rate "Hell Fest" 6.9 out of 10 "Oh Man, Did You See What That
Did To Her Neck??"s.

Oh, one other thing. The sticker on the front of the DVD case
states that it includes a free digital copy. There was no code
anywhere. I was ripped off for that.

Looks like inclement weather coming in and
at  El Rancho De La Tex we bring our
beautiful flag in when it rains.

Tom Mix
~ 1880 - 1940 ~

This is a photo of some of Tom Mix's personal belongings as they are
displayed at the Gene Autry Museum. Pictured are an Elgin pocket watch
and cigarette case. Also a sterling silver jewelry box, soap dish, shaving
brush case, toothbrush holder and ceramic ashtray, all personalized.

From my visit to the Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage in
Griffith Park, California, 2010.

Good-bye lizard.

One more.
Old Glory in the early evening illuminated
by our new solar flagpole light.

Friday, April 24, 2020

My son and I got out today and...

...put a solar light on our flagpole.
A friend was generous enough to buy it for us.
He is from England and is now an American citizen.
He loves the United States and wanted to do this for us.

Thank you so much! Salute!

We had a visitor today. Surprised the heck out of my mom
who was doing some weeding in the area. A baby. I'm tellin'
you, you gotta keep your dang eyes open all the time. It is
easy to forget that. This guy was kind of hard to see.

He was shakin' his little tail but there was not much
rattling going on. He is a beautiful little thing to be certain.

~ Ritchie Blackmore ~
Santa Monica Civic Auditorium - November 29th, 1975

Tuesday, April 21, 2020

Today my son and I repaired the halyard and installed new
hardware on our flagpole and got Old Glory to waving again.

This was actually my beloved stepfather's flagpole. He was
a proud retired Marine and he loved this country. Today's
raising of the Red, White and Blue was dedicated to him.

We miss you and we love you.

What a beautiful day.
