"He's Sweet and Decadently Rich!
The Perfect Man!"

Thursday, March 25, 2021

I've shown my son's drone. THIS drone is mine.
Not of the same caliber and I could not get it to
stay in one place today for some reason. I need
to keep practicing.

I was getting pretty good for a while.
Today was a complete setback.

I found a good deal on a Lodge skillet and could not
pass it up. This is a Chef Collection 8 inch pan. I don't
have one like this. Sloped walls and a different sort of
handle. I will start preparing this one to use in a few days.

They say it is "Seasoned and ready to use".
I bake off all of what they call "seasoning"
and start it from scratch.

Can't wait.

Creepy enough for ya?

How 'bout now?

I was walking along in a parking lot today when I looked
down and spotted these two Pokemon cards. Nothing too
exciting but hey, it could have been two fifty dollar bills.
You just never know.

Again, don't keep your eyes to the ground, but a peek
every now and then could reveal spectacular treasures.

Is this a good deal? I don't know.
It's not my scene.

OH yeah.
Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about.

I bought a large mechanics tool bag to hold
a few overflow items from my toolbox and to easily
move needed tools from workspace to workspace.

It was a swell idea!

My son's drone again doing a
flyby of our flagpole.

Another picture I took for my high school photography
class. It is a tree in our backyard. The little reflective thing
there is a lens cover for the Rolleiflex camera I used to take
the picture. My dad was a photographer for a living and lent
the camera to me for the class. I was not good with it.

My son's drone came up to take a picture of
me... and then dropped out of sight.

My new Urban Cowboy tin sign.
I had to have me some Bud and Sissy together.

Tuesday, March 2, 2021

I was over at World Market the other day and I could
not pass up buying this little carved and painted wooden
mask. It reminds me of Día de los Muertos.

It is kind of ghoulish looking, but I like it.

~ Happy National Pig Day 2021 ~

Wednesday, February 24, 2021

I inherited this from an extended family member
who passed away. Not somebody I was close to.

This thing is great. If you ever have a need to use split rings
you know how they can be a little difficult to "split" open,
especially those little ones. For the most part, here is the
answer to that problem.

I first saw these pliers a few years ago but I just in the last year or
so picked one up. These guys will save you time and nails. Made
I believe specifically for the smaller rings for doing crafts and such,
but they work for me for just about any size ring.

As you can probably see, these pliers were over
at Hobby Lobby. Worth the pesos if'n ya ask me.

~ 1995 ~
Riders in the Sky performs traditional cowboy songs that
can be enjoyed by folks of ALL ages. So when I saw
in the newspaper that they were going to be at McCabe's
Guitar Shop in Santa Monica I jumped at the chance
to buy tickets, which I successfully did.
(Pictured above are Woody Paul, "King of the Cowboy
Fiddlers", Ranger Doug, "The Idol of American Youth"
and last but not least, Too Slim wearing his Cac-Tie.)

My son was very young at the time but I knew he would
enjoy a night with these guys. It was quite a drive from
where we lived at the time but it was SO worth it. I have been
enjoying the music of Riders in the Sky since my early teens
and a chance to see them in a venue that holds only 150 people?

I could not pass it up.

As it turns out my son fell asleep in my lap kind of early in the
show (probably during "Cool Water" or "Tumblin' Tumbleweeds").
I stayed awake and enjoyed the HECK out of that show. Afterwards
we were able to buy an 8x10 of the guys and take it around to meet
them and have them sign it. Great fun was had by all.

As a side note, I actually lived a mile and a half from McCabe's
for a good portion of my life, so this place had been a part of it
since I was very young myself. My mom had bought my dad a
guitar here, again, when I was young. That guitar ended up in our
backyard with cats living in it. Long story.
