Toilet paper shelves.
A self-fulfilling prophecy it seems.

Saturday, November 14, 2020

I like this tree that is kind of growing through a wall
that is further out on our property. It ain't so good
for the wall, but I like how it looks.

The Millennium Falcon manufactured by the Corellian
Engineering Corporation via Mattel. You KNOW I love
this freighter. It was cheap. It is cool.
I bought it for my desk.

~ Happy Halloween 2020 from El Rancho De La Tex ~

Sunday, October 25, 2020

I finally bought a movie that I have really been wanting
to see, and for a long time. I have heard good things about
"Doctor Sleep: The Next Chapter in The Shining Story".
We will see.

All horror, all month.

And then Ygor says, "Here. He say you tell
him, monster walk again. He came to see.
Monster walk."

This here is a Latex Reaper.
But I'm bettin' you knew that.

Personally, I don't think a permit should be required.
Cool sign though.

Simply Spray Blood for those of you who
would rather spray than dribble or drool it.

This is a Fox 40 Micro Safety Whistle. They are very
inexpensive and take up just about no room on your
keychain. If the worst happens and you ever need to
be found, an emergency whistle will save your voice
and the whistle's sound will travel further.

"Three loud, short blasts on your whistle, each lasting
approximately three seconds. While you're blowing, count to
three in your head during each blast so it lasts
approximately three seconds."

You can buy them in two or three packs online.

I thought I would reminisce a bit today. This is the
very first Spirit Halloween Store I ever visited.

This was in September of 2007. There was
NOBODY there. They would have it at this
location once or twice more.

My very first Spirit Halloween Store haul. I have shown
this awful mask before. The skull is common, glows
in the dark and is fun. A lot of them have their own
personalities as they are pretty cheap and often one is
a different shape then the next. Ya takes yer pick.

They were fun then, but Spirit stores have become
even better over the years.

It's that time of year again!
This picture is actually from our Annual Halloween
Crawl of 2019. We are looking forward to whatever type of
Halloween activities we can squeeze out of this weird year.

I started my scary movie watching month a day or two
early with a viewing of Midsommar. Kind of freaky.
I think when I figure out more about it, it will seem
even more freaky. I am not reading anything about
it yet. I want to watch it again first. I did enjoy it.

I spent a lot of the movie just looking for Easter eggs as
I know there have to be many. Easter eggs are fun.

I also felt really bad for that girl Dani,
until the very very end... I think.

If I could get a nickel for every
"it", I would be up a quarter.

With everything that is going on this year, with things
being kind of weird out there, my son and I unfortunately
decided that this year we will not be going on our Annual
Halloween Store Crawl for 2020. We may hit one store up
if we find ourselves out and around, but it is not likely.

It just doesn't seem like much fun with all the requirements.

We are looking forward to 2021!

!!! Avocado Seed Update: Number Six !!!

More growth, a lot more. They say you need
some patience to grow an avocado plant. That
is a major understatement. And another thing that
you need is a memory. You need to remember
to add water to this seed just about every day.
That water evaporates... FAST.

Stay tuned!

On Saturday February 15th, 2020 I put this avocado seed
in water and posted a photo. I will update again
in about a month. It's fun!

Friday, September 11, 2020

We will not forget.

Monday, September 7, 2020

Here are a couple more of the the decals I collected
when I was young. When we go back East to visit
family we usually drive to Quebec...

...to visit The Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré.
It is beautiful and just something we have always done.

Saturday, September 5, 2020

It's pretty hot out there.

Wednesday, August 26, 2020

I know this is a little difficult to see, but
this is one of my mom's carousel horses.

This horse is interesting to me because the base is made
from wood that comes from the Santa Monica Pier.
I practically grew up on that pier and to think that
this wood was there makes this figure a fun one to me.

 Today is National Knife Day!
In honor of this grand day, I am going to show another
knife that I bought years ago at, you guessed it: some
gun show. This is called the Al Mar Pocket Knife Keychain.

Look at this little thing. And it is SHARP. Al Mar is a brand
that I never hear much about. This is the only Al Mar knife
that I own. The blade is apparently made of 440 steel (eh).
The handle material is Zytel. Made in Japan. I never use it.
I just like having it. This little guy has been discontinued.

Here is a picture showing the Al Mar
logo and a quarter for size reference.
Anyway, have a great National Knife Day!

!!!!! BONUS PHOTO !!!!!
Today's BP is just another one showing how great the
patina is becoming on my modified Becker BK14 knife.
It changes every time I use it for food preparation.
I am really enjoying using this knife.

Monday, August 10, 2020

I spotted this guy while out today.
He is ravaged... but he is still smiling.

Wednesday, August 5, 2020

I was just messing around with my phone again
and created this not so great very short video
showing a few small pieces of cactus that dropped
off of the larger cactus and are now growing well.

That is one of my famous sentences.
Take a breath. Anyway...

You know how I feel about cactus.
Beautiful.

So I'm driving down the road and a golf ball
hits the front of our car breaking the car's
logo in half. Nice net.

Assolutamente fantastico!

Hoo-rah!
I am down to my last tablespoons and I was
going to try and do without topping for a while, but
my son and his grandma had this delivered today!

Life is buttery good.

Here are some items representing the Single Action
Shooting Society, or SASS for short. On the left is a pin
that is given when you join SASS. In the middle is a
challenge coin that I bought some years ago and on the right
is another pin, or actually a tie tack that I used as a pin.

I have not been a member of the organization for some time
as it got to be more than I could afford, but I still promote
SASS. I promote just about anything that keeps the Spirit of
the Old West alive. The Single Action Shooting Society
for the most part does that.

If you are interested in learning about
SASS, I have them linked on the "Favorite
Places to Visit" part of my site here.

William Frederick Cody
"Buffalo Bill"
February 26, 1846 - January 19, 1917

This Buffalo Bill toy figure (the likeness is uncanny) was made
by Diversified Specialists out of Houston Texas in 1994. I do not
believe that Diversified is around anymore. I found a price
online: 8 to 10 dollars. Hoo-ray!

This was a Christmas gift from a LONG time ago.
I hung it up for fun.

Monday, July 20, 2020

Just kind of discovered this today.
I don't know what kind of succulent this is,
but I like it's bloom. It looks like a little tree.

Thursday, July 16, 2020

Yeah, I have a small VHS movie collection from back
in the day. This is probably about a third of them. I have
a VHS player that is not hooked up because it only plays
back in black and white for some reason. Oh well.

We payed $500 for our first Mitsubishi VHS player.
The remote control was not cordless and programming
the thing to record something was a chore. There was
no onscreen programming. It was all done with
little buttons and switches.

But I loved that player.
