It's that time of the year again. I love these Easter egg cartons
with the candy inside. Actually, I love most all Easter candy and
the packaging. The colors are awesome. All the pastel colors. The
candy cartons I buy usually have better colors than this one.

Maybe I will just have to find another one(!) Oh the humanity.

Here are a few random things that are on one of my curio shelves.
That piece of metal on the left is actually a nickel that I placed on
the railroad track at Knott's Berry Farm when I was 17 years old.
It was the part of the track that is right out in front of the Calico
Mine Ride. The train smooshed it. Nobody will ever know what
that little collectible (to me anyway) is unless I tell them.

On the right is a wooden nickel from Disneyland circa a long time ago.
I did see someplace on the Internet that it might be from around 1973.

Blimey! Bring that pistol about mate!
That be gunpowder ya be blasting at!

My son took this picture in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride
when we went to Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

Here's another picture of the Spanish Village Art Corner at
Balboa Park in San Diego, California. If I remember right, there
is art from all over the world in these little shops. I really like this
little building. I think it looks like Old California. All it needs is
some bougainvillea wrapped up around those tiles and a horse
with a lever action rifle and scabbard tied up front and it would
be perfect.

I was out driving around looking for something not too long
ago and ended up driving by the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal
Park. I decided to stop and take a picture. This park is awesome
and if you ever have a chance to visit, go. You will feel like you
are visiting other countries. It's amazing.

Quite a few years ago we were trimming some cactus and I
got the bright idea to plant a few "starters" and whenever we
would have a guest over to Casa De Los Tex I would give
them a cactus to take home with them, transplanting to another pot not
necessarily required. Just a fun way to remember their visit to the casa.
I thought it was a fun idea. Nobody else did. They all remained at the ranch.

I took this picture with my Sony Mavica which back then I
thought took magnificent photos.

I finally bought a copy of DRIVE starring Ryan Gosling. I've
been hearing that this movie was one of the best of 2011. But I
didn't want to pay $19.99 so I waited until I got a Rewards coupon
and then made my move on it. It was a pretty darn good movie. I
didn't think that Ryan was going to do anything for me, but he did.
He was good. It's kind of artsy-craftsy too which I didn't expect.
Ron Perlman, Bryan Cranston and Albert Brooks all give great performances.
The interaction between Carey Mulligan and Ryan Gosling totally tugged
at my heart strings. I thought I was just going to see action, not get the
weepies. I hate the weepies. It gives me a headache.
I am not a love story type of person.

But I do recommend this movie. More good action and story than weepies.
And hey, it takes place all around Los Angeles and the San Fernando
Valley, and they actually filmed it there. You gotta love that. L.A. has
become so industry unfriendly, it's good to see it happen again.

I took this picture of a waterfall running along these steps last July
at Balboa Park in San Diego. If I were rich (HAHAHA!), I would have
a waterfall like this running along side any stairs I had outside AND
inside my home and on warm days I would use the falls instead of the
steps to make my way around. I might even have a bench and table in the water
along the way so that we could take a seat and relax a bit with a cool
drink and feel the water rushing over our bare feet.

This is a picture of The Eagle Rock located along the northern edge
of where else but Eagle Rock, California. The town gets it's name from this
huge boulder. At certain times of the day, the indentation you can kind of see
in this picture casts a shadow that looks like.... an eagle. It really does.

I couldn't believe it when I read a few years ago that they
almost demolished (really?) this big rock to build
condominiums. WTF? But they haven't done it yet.

Anyway, I took this picture as I was driving by and the gray at the bottom of the
photo is the median in the road.

This stupid Desperate Housewives show tonight stupidly made
me cry like a stupid stupid. So stupid. It's the only show I
watch if I even watch it and tonight I watched it and it
got to me. I won't say what happened, but Susan Delfino
is putting a rose on a casket.

I took the photo with my iPod and my iPod takes
awful photographs (and that is the only criticism I have
regarding my much beloved iPod).

That is a freakin dinosaur.

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

I made that post earlier today from my iPod when I was
at the mall. I was trying to load this picture I took there, but I guess
I can't do it from my iPod. I dunno. If there's a way, I'll figure it out.

At comix-n-stuff I bought the stuff pictured below. One is from the movie
Hostel and the other is a fun little space pod from the old Lost In Space
television series. I already had a Hostel figure but I always regretted
opening the package for display. I was lucky enough to find another one
and it will remain unopened. Ta-daaaa.

Anyway, that's my mall thing for the day. I had a nice time.
(Edit: This is my post from the mall earlier today.)

I'm at the mall today as I type this. I can't seem to add an image from here. I'll work on it.
Huzzah!!

Hydr yo tge lputofw gpt s fsu... Wait a sec....
My fingers were in the wrong place. Just to get outside
for a day, here is a picture of a little river not far from my home. I
don't know if it's man-made or not, but it's kinda nice. There is
fishing and camping there, but I think some folks stay there
long term. Kinda fishy. Anyway... At least we got outside for the day.

I too am becoming a hair claustrophobic staying inside all the
time and looking at my stuff, but I haven't been anywhere lately.
EXCEPT for Blockbuster video on my way home from work last
night. I had my eye on this Super Mario Galaxy 2 action figure at
Toys R Us, but I didn't want to pay what they were asking. Blockbuster
had this poor guy all dusty and neglected for 50% off the sale price.

So here he is. I am now officially 13 years old.

The Siiimp-soooooooooons.
Kinda.

Saturday, March 10, 2012

For only $19.95 you can welcome friends to your NUT HOUSE.
I think it would go great with your "Bless This Mess" and
"I'm not fast, I'm not slow, I'm half fast" signs.
I saw this in a shop in Julian, California. I do actually
think it's kinda cute, but that's strictly off the record.

GORJUS NAILS.
I had to keep looking at it to make sure I spelled it wrong right.

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

This is a display of fence materials over at Home Depot.
I'm bettin I could have fun if I had that display at home
(minus the signage of course).

I happen to really enjoy the Phantasm movie series and
when I was poking around the comic book store I just
happened to see this button for Phantasm II (1988) poking out
from a container of other items. I grabbed it.

I'm not into comics or anime or anything like that at all,
but these stores sometimes have movie related items
that I am interested in.

Just a random picture I took today at the mall in North
County San Diego during our 87 degree weather.

Saturday, March 3, 2012

This is a great movie theater in Temecula, California.
It's called the TEMEKU and it's pretty old school, meaning,
you can hear the projectors running as loud as the movie at
times and the seats are not the new ultra-rockers and such.
But hey, the popcorn is really good, free refills on the large
size (oink!), and you put your own melted butter on. As little or
as much as you like. YES.

Annnnnnd, tickets are $2.50. That's right, $2.50. If you missed
a movie while it was at the theater you normally go to, check
the schedule at the TEMEKU because it is probably playing there.

(Jeez, I've been long winded lately.)
