I sliced up some potatoes.

I cooked up them potatoes.

I ate potatoes and corn. I love corn. On the cob,
off the cob. I love corn.

I enjoyed the sunset.

I went to one of my favorite places again today.

Down down doooowwwwwn the hall...

...to Eli Roth's The Green Inferno!

Man, some of us have been waiting a long time for this
cannibal movie. It was actually completed in 2013 but
the release (I believe for financial reasons) did not happen
until this month. Cannibal gore runs rampant!

If you've never seen a cannibal genre film, go check out Ruggero
Deodato's Cannibal Holocaust (1980), then see TGI. TGI was fun,
but I will reserve making an official rating until I see it again at
Borden Cinema when it is released on Blu-ray (which I hope
will be REAL soon). I think I will really enjoy seeing it again.
I am one who appreciates Eli Roth. Many don't.

After the show I made a trip over to Target to buy some wooden
utensils. Trying to save a few dollars I chose an inexpensive set.
But thank goodness on the way to check out I received a nice sized
splinter from the spoon. Hint taken. I went back and traded for two
of the nicer ones. Better finish = no splinters. I do have a Swiss Army
knife with tweezers, but I don't want to have to use
them after every meal.

Annnnnnd, it is Halloween at Target. I will start my Halloween
Celebration here on October 1st, but I could not resist posting a
picture I took of this huge pumpkin. That thing is humongous.
(Kinda looks like a Halloween cheeseburger is on his left, our right.)

Annnnnnd, Dwight Yoakam has a new CD out. How did THAT get by
me I'd like to know. I love Dwight. Hey! What is that thing
peeking out from behind the CD?!

A rat skeleton! Hokey smoke! This guy will be a part of my annual
"By The Television In Our Living Room" Halloween display and will
be a surprise to the other inhabitants of El Rancho De La Tex
on October 1st.

I can't wait to start showing all the Halloween goodies from the
2015 Halloween Crawl.

And I really love it when the sky is so beautiful
and blue as it was today.

We had a visitor about 6:30 this morning.

He wasn't real big, but he was real pretty.

Sunday, September 27, 2015

This is a small lighter I keep on my keychain. It's called
a "Peanut Lighter". I would use it to light my cigarettes,
but seeing as how today is my Twelve Year Anniversary
since quitting tobacco, I reckon I won't. Hoo-rah!

A week or two ago I had gone to the Boot Barn
to pick up a hat brush and a large bandanna. While there
I saw a lot of hats that I liked. I want one.

When I got home I completed an online survey and
in turn I received a five dollar coupon.
I went back for my hat today.

I ended up buying this Resistol Kingman 10x Shantung
Panama hat from the George Strait Collection. Not sure
how I feel about it being a GSC thing (even though I love
George Strait), but I tried many on and I like the Kingman's
shape and it fits pretty danged good.

I was given the opportunity and completed another
online survey for yet another five dollar coupon and now
I have to go back again. Oh the humanity.

How about some Donald Duck
moccasins from the Indian Store?

I'm a doggoned huge Disney fan, but I
might lean more towards SpongeBob SquarePants.

Jansport steps up their game with a
leopard skin backpack.

Mreow.

No city water... No country water...
Hell, this is California. There ain't NO water.

Here is a blurry picture of a squirrel that has been
eating our bird food and does not have the
courtesy to stay put while I get an IN focus picture.

I totally missed "Talk Like a Pirate Day" 2015.
Stupid work.

Friday, September 18, 2015

Scary clowns are beginning to turn up everywhere.

Thursday, September 17, 2015

It's the good ol' Palm Tree Lodge where evidently
there is no good ol' palm tree maintenance.

I had wanted the Vince Guaraldi CD for a long time.
I only really know him for the music he did for all the
Peanuts specials in the 1960's. "Christmas Time is Here",
"Charlie Brown Theme", "Great Pumpkin Waltz" and
on and on. You have most likely heard them all. This 2 CD
set has all of these songs and more. I am looking forward
to hearing more of his work.

I pre-ordered the "Halloween 6 Producer's Cut" on Blu-ray
from Amazon back in early July. I received it today.

I went to Walmart today and they had about four copies. I had no
idea that they would have this movie. They were selling for the
same price I paid, but no shipping of course. I lose.
But I have the movie, so I win! I'm a bit torn.

Here is a closeup picture of a small cactus that is
around here. It is not as in focus as I had hoped.

Tuesday, September 15, 2015

I spotted a "hidden Mickey" cloud today. I did highlight
it a little bit so that you could see what shape I was referring
to. Maybe I am reaching. La la laaaaa.

 A few days ago I posted this picture from the Indian Store
hinting that we had purchased something from this display.
We did. I just cannot resist some of these conchos. My son
bought that little silver ankh.

I bought this concho. What I like about this one is that it
looks like it has been around awhile. Aged in all the right
places. They only run a couple of dollars and I have a good
collection going.

This is a hat for sale at the Indian Store that we go
to and visited earlier this week. I suppose the beading is
authentic because the hat sells for a fortune. I am pretty
ignorant when it comes to why some of these items
are as valuable as they are (or aren't). I wish to learn more.

I bought this piece of scrap leather to strop my knives
on. It is just a "poor man's" strop until I can afford
a store bought one with compound. I will cut it to
size. This was the best piece I could find that was
inexpensive.

I have watched The History Channel's mini-series
"Texas Rising" over the last three nights. I viewed
the last ninety minutes tonight at Borden Cinema
and I think it was well worth watching. From what
I have read, I am almost alone with that. It is 7.5
hours long and I will watch it again someday.

The ending seemed to tease a part two called
"Comanche Wars". I hope that comes about. But
again, from what I have read, because of low
ratings, that might not happen. Sheesh, I thought
it was good.

Saturday, September 12, 2015

I bought this skull mug for my son when out
and about today. It's for pencils and such on
his computer table.

Oh  yeah, I almost forgot. It's from Walmart.

~~~~~~ ALSO ~~~~~~
At the Indian Store during our Halloween Crawl this
week I bought a little skull bead that I wanted to put
on my knife lanyard. I knew I would need to drill out
the hole to make it at least as big as the hole in that bead.
I knew the jaw would not survive. But I'm good with that.
After drilling the hole (which was not easy I'll tell you what)
I filed down the jaw and sanded it a bit and...
...I went from this...
...to this. I like it. It came out not as good as I had hoped
but better than I expected. I even learned a new knot that
helped the skull hang straight. Both knot and
skull should last a good long time.
~ September 11, 2015 ~
Thursday, September 10, 2015
Hooray! Today we went on our Annual Halloween Store
Crawl for 2015! It was great fun and I will be posting
pictures and purchases during the SCARY month of
October. I am looking forward to that.
Oh, and for at least the next month or two we are a
designated Zombie Outbreak Response Team. Not a
responsibility that we take lightly. Hoo-rah! More to come...
 We also took a trip over to the Boot Barn...
...where I picked up a much needed hat brush and a
HUGE bandanna. SO many great uses for bandannas
and I always have one with me.
We also made a stop at the Indian Store.
One of our favorite places.
I spotted this really great drawing of a couple of
horses that I wished I could buy...
...and a purse that I did not really wish I could buy...
...and a few items here that we did buy. Which ones?
More to come from the Indian Store too.
 We bought this guy at our first stop as our 2015
Halloween Crawl mascot. We decided that he is grumpy.
It was a great fun day and I spent money like I had it.
I have to slow down. I did however complete a
Boot Barn survey for a $5 gift card. I have points
from purchases, and as soon as I have a few extree
pesos, I am going back to pick up a Resistol straw
hat that I have my eyes on.
