Mmmmm baconnnnnnnn.
The only thing better than bacon is more bacon.

I went over to Target because I heard on the radio that they
had something that I really wanted. But I really didn't know I
wanted it until right then because I didn't know that
it existed until I heard about it on the radio.

Brand new release: Kenny G, Brazilian Nights.
You can judge me if you want, but I love this guy. I have eight
(count 'em, eight) of his CDs now. Kenny's music is really relaxing.
I'm guessing you either love or hate his music. I think his music
can mean different things to different people. I think that
this is another great one.

Every once in a while the Sports Chalet store will send me a
ten dollar coupon. Free and clear. Like ten dollars cash, no
catch. The last time they did this was August of 2013. And
just this week, another one. It's very cool. This time around
I bought this really strong Black Diamond brand climbing
carabiner. It's a puuuurdy color.

Just kind of a novelty item for me. I am never going to climb
anything. One reason being....

...you can fall and die.

But thank you Sport Chalet. You rock. You roll.

In some circles this is a long standing tradition.

Something about these steps and handrails in a Starbucks
parking lot look a little off. Just enough to make them interesting.

Sunday, January 25, 2015

Really? There is such a thing?
Juuuuuust kidding.
Pull your pants up!

Saturday, January 24, 2015

I thought that maybe if I took my camera out to take a
picture of this interesting cloud, the light would suddenly
turn green. You know how that goes. It didn't and
I got the picture. It's a win/win.

Oh c'mon now. You know you need a
Honkin' Clown Nose.

Thursday, January 22, 2015

I bought The Raven with John Cusack. I've been wanting to
see this movie too. Walmart. Five dollars. Done.

I did watch End of Watch with Jake Gyllenhaal. That was a
GOOD one. I have to watch it again sometime soon to see
if I still like it. I wonder if LEO's like End of Watch. I would
really like to know. No LE in my life right now to ask.

I haven't really gone anyplace lately to take any fun pictures.
I will have to do something about that ASAP.

I always wanted to try El Mexicano Taco Shop. Too late
now though as I think they are no longer there. Just one
of those things you keep putting off until it's a no go. The
"take-out" looks like you are driving through a barn.

"Justice is what I seek, Kemosabe."
More of this in the near future.

My son has a subscription to "Loot Crate". Every month
they send you a box that is like a "grab bag" of geeky stuff.
One of the items for January 2015 is this Star Wars Marvel
comic book. He gave it to me. I of course will not open it...

The picture on the cover shows Han protecting what looks
like a shipment of Loot Crates like the one this comic came in.

On this overcast but awesome day...

...I bought "End of Watch". I've been wanting to see it since
I saw the previews when I went to the movie theater. But
I was not going to pay for a ticket or spend much on a DVD
to do so. But  today? Five Dollars. Going to watch this one
real soon. Jake Gyllenhaal does some good stuff.

I bought and watched "Snowpiercer" about a week ago. I heard
real good things about it. Here is my review:

Eh.

That is my Diet Pepsi on a trashcan.

Should I spill my Diet Pepsi, they have me covered.
The circle of life... It's just so dang studly.

I bought a new knife. "Huzzah!" says I.
This is a Ka-Bar Becker BK14 Eskabar knife. The blade is 3 1/4
inches long with an overall length of 7 inches. It is made of 1095
Cro-Van steel. The knife itself comes as you see it here with a
"skeletonized" handle.

You can wrap the handle with "paracord" (parachute cord) or leave as is.
I like either of those options about zero amount so I bought the aftermarket
Zytel handles (I prefer to call them grips or panels) that come
two pair to a pack, orange and black.

Here is the knife with the grip panels installed and it makes all the
difference in the world. The sheath is a hard plastic and is actually
intended to be worn around the neck. Ferget that. I will come up
with something else. The edge needs some work and I will do my
best with that soon. There is a lanyard hole that is a pretty good
size. Anyway, this is a totally great little fixed blade knife.

This is another law: If you have a wooden toolbox you
must test spray paint on it, even if it is slightly weird, in a
subliminal kind of way. Hmmmm... Anyway it's the law.

I couldn't get a good picture of this bee on my car's
windshield. But this guy, he sat there halfway to
work with me and that is a loooooong way. I kept
tellin' him, "Bee, you are getting further and further
away from your neighborhood and you are gonna
be sorry." Eventually he let go.

...and keep 'em up. And no funny stuff...

Monday, January 12, 2015

I have heard a lot about The Wolf of Wall Street and
Snowpiercer and I found them both today for a good
price. I am looking forward to both of them. Wolf is
really long so, gotta find the time. I hear that one
particular word is used in abundance.

I have another hat. This one was sold by the Golden Gate
Hat Co. out of Los Angeles, California. I believe I bought
it about twenty years ago in Temecula, CA.

This is a "crushable" 100% wool hat, western style. I think
this hat would sell for between 25 and 40 dollars. Very low
cost. This hat was made in the good old U.S.A.
It is the "Thunder" model.

However, as you can see, moths love these hats and I have a
difficult time keeping the little buggers away. They put a little
hole clean through one of my Stetson hats. Ack. But I suppose
that and dirt give the hats personality. So it's all good.

Somewhere down the line I came into possession
of these NASA mission patches.

The Space Shuttle patch was always my favorite
as I was a pretty big fan of that program. I mean,
what an awesome vehicle.

A year or two ago I bought this little Ertl Space
Shuttle die cast toy. I thought it was kind of cool.

I think it was made in the 1980's. It is about 3 inches long
and it looked great to me in the store when I bought it.

But now that I've taken these close up pictures, I see
just how terrible this thing looks. But I still like it.

When this trail...

...hits the ground...

 ...we gonna git...

 ...high, high, high...

Thursday, January 8, 2015

It was a nice day out today.

The little flowers were doing their thing...

...and the solar gopher repellers beeped
whenever I walked by them.

They even had this guy frozen in his tracks.

===============================================

Later on that night...

So we are sitting there just before the credits to Jurassic Park:
Part Two start to roll and my mom says, "It feels like there
is something in my sweatpants." Yeah, okay. We continue to watch
the credits and she says it again. "It feels like there is something in
my sweatpants." She raises her pant leg up and I shine my flashlight and
sure enough, there is a freakin' scorpion crawling on the inside of her
pants. I BAPPED it with my flashlight a couple of times. It finally
fell to the floor and I stomped on it.

It was actually a pretty frantic scene and we were all laughing like crazy,
most likely out of nervousness. The picture above shows the part of
the scorpion that was left in my mom's pant leg after I knocked it off.

These scorpions can be a pain.

It looks like somebody is just this side of toying
with copyright infringement. I'm shocked.

It was my birthday recently and here is my French
Silk Pie birthday cake.

Believe me, it was a WHOLE lot better than my picture makes it look.
You know how that goes. Now, historically and the way I was raised,
I am the type of person who works on my birthday if my birthday falls
on a work day. But this year I said, "I'm taking a few days off. I aint'a
gonna work on my birthday this year." So I took four days off.
It was heaven.

I went to the Disney Store on my Birthday and I was totally surprised by
the Star Wars products they had for sale. I got this pretty nifty die cast
Millennium Falcon.

It isn't perfect but it was $19.99 and for that price it is great.

This is the view from above. It stays in the box.

When you purchase a Star Wars item at the Disney Store you are
given a collector card. I don't know what is inside and.... you called
it... I never will.

Disney 99.99% of the time does it just right and their merchandise
bags are no exception.

El Nerdo me saves all of them. They're fun to have down the line.

My favorite gift to myself was a new ring. I spent WAY too much on
it. Scary too much. But I did it and I am happy. I spent a lot of time
looking for one that I loved, and I found it.

I had a very nice birthday, and I didn't have to work the next day.
That was one of the best parts.

I promise that I will get outside with my camera sometime soon.
