~ Happy Halloween, 2017 ~

P.S. I almost forgot to post this picture of the foot
skeleton I bought over at Walmart a week or
so ago. This goes perfectly with my hand skeleton.
Happy Halloween again!

P.S.S. I thought I had shown this guy already, but I
guess not. He is too creepy to leave out.
Happy HAPPY Halloween!

Bones a' Plenty at Party City.

A gargoyle tombstone in a major way.

A missed opportunity for subtle spookiness
by hanging a skeleton in the backstage rafters
at the Spirit Store.

Somebody tell him that it's all gonna be okay.

Freddy Kruger has been here.

And finally..... Tomorrow is HALLOWEEN!

 A guy in pain.

Thomas Hewitt.

A happy monkey with a chicken in his face.

Super Zombie Baby.

The Spirit Store usually has their coolest items in
the back of the store with a different theme each year.
This years theme is "Area 31".

I love the Spirit Store, but this is weak.

The themed area was not very isolated as it usually is.

This guy was not working very well in any of the locations
and all it did was fill the helmet with smoke and light up
green inside or something.

Pretty much the same with this guy.

This thing was supposed to sit up and it's eyes would light
up and show through the sheet. Not very impressive to me.

This one was kind of neat as you could put it anyplace. You
could put it on your bed and when activated it would raise
up a few feet like Regan MacNeil. It wasn't working well though.

Out of all that stuff for this year, I much prefer these guys.
I still love you Spirit Store and I look
forward to next year's theme.

 "I like 'em too!"

This guy just kind of is what he is, and he is cool.

Can you imagine putting this Lurking Zombie in your
window for some unsuspecting family member or
friend? I would never do this. It might work too good.
I think somebody would have a heart attack.

Halloween is supposed to be fun.
Halloween is not supposed to kill you.

At the Spirit Store they had a little rickety covered bridge to
walk through. When you did you walked under this cool bat.

Some of the animatronics were pretty big this year.
This tree was great.

I liked this scarecrow guy.
He looks pretty real just'a sittin' there.

This guy looks pretty good. But I cannot
remember what he did or what he was called.

Now, I'm not a big Ghostbusters fan, but I think
this guy is a-w-e-s-o-m-e. He is pretty big and
he is like a big hard foam filled I don't know what
to call it.

I cannot even see a hardcore or even a slightly
hardcore Ghostbusters fan passing this up. For a
GB fan I think that he would be a year round display.
He was the only one left.

And yeah, he sold for $79.99, but if you saw him
in person, you would not think that that was a
totally outrageous price. A little high maybe, but...

If you frighten easily, please, PLEASE skip today's post.

At least one weird thing related to Halloween
decorations seems to happen every year.
This year was no different.

The skeletons.

Every place we went that had these kind of
skeletons had at least one skeleton with his hand
out. An unnatural position for these guys and I thought
nothing much of it at first, but then...

...another store. I've never seen anything like this,
especially since the way they are made their arms pretty
much just hang at their sides. The "hand out" position
would require some manipulating, or force of
some kind.

By the third sighting we knew this was no coincidence.
Is there a "Put the Skeleton's Hand Out" Phantom
haunting all the stores this year?

It happened again and again and there were more photos
taken at other stops, but they were mysteriously cloudy
to the point of being unusable.

Devilish goings on? I don't know, man.

I leave you with this teddy bear mask to lighten
the mood and keep the nighmares at bay.

Wo. It's HOT today. Actually this gauge is a little
wack. It is really only 113 degrees out.

My son and I voted this the Number One Cool Item of the
day on our 2017 Annual Halloween Crawl. Great colors,
all metal and creepy mood. And I would have spent the thirty
dollars on it if I had thirty dollars to drop on this sign even
though I don't need it and I have no room for it.

(Priorities priorities. There is still so much nice
cutlery I've yet to collect.)

"I got a rock."

"Sunduddy otened aw nah nowths."
Huh?
"Sunduddy otened aw nah nowths."
What??
"Sunduddy! otened! aw! nah! NOWTHS!"
Oh! Somebody opened all your mouths?!
"Ahh!"

...in other news.

I also spotted these Friday the 13th patches at I think the
Spirit Store. I picked them up, then put them down,
then picked them up, then put them down, then picked
them up again and decided to carry them around a while
just in case I decided to buy them. It was the last one.

As you can see, I did buy them. Here is a closeup of the
little pin that was included. Not a great pin, but it's Camp
Crystal Lake, so it's good. My son told me once we left
the store that if I had put them back down, he was going to
sneak back around and buy them for me.
My kid is cool like that.

My goodness Grandma, what big ol' hands you have.

Friday, October 20, 2017

Clowns seem to be very popular this
year, one way or another.

And clowns gotta have clown weapons.

Am I right? Yes.

Hey! I remember you from last year!

What a flirt.

As I was leaving El Rancho today to run some errands
in town, I spotted this guy. I have no idea where he
came from. He is not mine. He is pretty cool.
His snake must be annoying.

On one of my errands I bought this Ontario 499 Air Force
Survival Knife. No, these are not the finest knives in the world,
but I have kind of wanted one for a lot of years. A lot. Just to
have. They have been made by a few companies, the latest being
Ontario. I have had this knife on my Amazon wish list for over
two years.

I was at Walmart two weeks ago and there were four in the case.
I hemmed and hawed and passed it up. After I left I was sorry I did.
So today I grabbed a few dollars from my penny jar, shoved them into
the back of my wallet and said to myself that if they had any left, I would
buy one. If not, I would keep those dollars in the back of my wallet and
hope that one day they might have them again. Today, one left. Huzzah!

I think these knives and sheaths are weird. But I am really
happy to finally add one to my collection.

Oh yeah, and I bought Monte Walsh on DVD.
Tom Selleck. Cowboy. No brainer.
