When I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean they were
giving out these nifty POTC temporary tattoos. This is
of course a scan of the sheet. I never did use them as
I was afraid of being mistaken for a hooligan.

I decided to take a walk around Rancho De La Tex after
the rains. I don't know how accurate these rain gauges are
but this one says close to nine inches. It has been raining a
lot, I'm just not sure if it is just this much a lot.

So much rain coming down and all this guy collected was a
rock. We should form a club. The fawn makes a
guest appearance.

It looks like my old chair of seventeen years or so has seen
it's last days. This was my old "sit outside and smoke" chair.
I bought it strictly for that purpose. I haven't used it for that
reason for ten years last June. Anyway, I guess it has
held it's last backside.

Think you used enough mousetraps there, Butch?

There aren't a whole lot of oranges there right now, but the
ones that are there are pretty doggoned.... orangy.

Last one for today is a flower.

Just a short video of some So Cal rain (finally)
while sitting in the car at In N Out.

"Chewie? Chewie, is that you?"

I'd seen this movie with the Black Friday "PROMO"
sticker on it in the $7.88 bin for at least a month. It was
the only one with that sticker in the entire bin. I never
thought the promotion would still work, but I finally decided
to take it to the price checker thing. $3.88. Huzzah!

Yeeeees...

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeesssss...

Yeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssss...

YES!
We tried a new Tom's restaurant. The burger above was
not mine. This one was a double cheeseburger with bacon
and pastrami on top. And to be honest (blush), mine was
just about as big. Yuhhhhh-MEE.

Just saw this sitting in the house. I have no idea who bought
Richard Simmons stuff. All I know about Richard Simmons
is that he seems to be an okay guy. He has been helping people
for years and years and you never hear anything bad about him.

And if you never saw him guest on a show called "Who's Line Is
It Anyway", you should do yourself a favor and look it up on
YouTube. I've seen it more than once and I rarely laugh that hard.
Especially for repeat viewings.

I'm excited about this. I got my Gravity Blu-ray. This one stars Sandra
Bullock and George Clooney and is outstanding. I saw it in the theater
and I can't wait to see it again. I just wish they would have done a better
job with the Blu-ray artwork. This is the first time I've ever felt that way.
The movie is just epic, but the cover is so blah.
I could not get a good picture of it.

Stand and Deliver!
I just ran across my Adam Ant poster from back in the
day. Adam Ant was thee dude. I liked his music a lot (strings
and marching drums ala' 1700's). With songs like Strip, Friend
or Foe and Dog Eat Dog, Ant Music was hot in the early 80's.
Adam has quite a background and has had his share of problems,
but he keeps coming back.

And here is something that I didn't really know I had. My
3 Dog Night ticket. I don't want to say how long ago this was,
but look at the price of the ticket. This was my first more or
less "on my own" rock concert and was at The Great Western
Forum in Inglewood, California.

The Forum was one of the former homes to the Los
Angeles Lakers basketball team. I hate basketball.

Walmart Field Trip! Woo-Hoo!

Uh-oh. It's that pink, pastel and chocolate time of the
year again. Love me them Easter aisles.

I hope she does. I'm not paying five dollars to
watch her knit a sweater.

I go out walking after midnight. Out in the moonlight just like
we used to do. I'm always walking after midnight searching for you.*

I love the night. But I'm not really searching for anybody.
That's just the song talking.

* Walking After Midnight by Don Hecht & Alan Block via Patsy Cline

And speaking of the Gene Autry Museum in Griffith Park, California...
The last time I went I bought this cool little Mexican double loop
leather holster/pistol keychain.

This is my Star Wars Titanium Series Luke Skywalker Figure.
Luke is defending Echo Base on Hoth and is about to take
down an AT-AT Walker in Star Wars Episode V: The
Empire Strikes Back (1980). Luke comes in a cool display
case, but it is just too big for my cabinet so he is out of that
and on the base only.

Saturday, February 15, 2014

I took this picture on my visit to the Gene Autry Western Heritage
Museum in 2010. The museum is at Griffith Park in Los Angeles.
Ever get a chance to go? Go. Anyway, the item pictured today is
(as the sign says) a Tooth Key from about 1850. You just grip that
handle in your fist, wrap the business end around the offending
tooth and..... yikes.

My son took this picture at the entrance to Tomorrowland
in Disneyland, California. I do not know the name of the
big gold atrocity. The Matterhorn looks nice though.

Now, I am not really familiar with buses
and bus trips...

...but if this is what they are all like, I will
pass. Fortunately this was a very short trip.
Like ten minutes short.

So I was playing a game of pool on my beloved iPod when
Jimmy comes walkin' in...

Jimmy is always good for a few moments of abandon and some
laughs, and he plays a good game of Eight Ball. He smokes too
much and every room he spends time in ends up looking like a
bar. I believe that if Jimmy were able, he would surround himself
in black and white.

He doesn't know much about me, and that's the way I want it. Jimmy
says he thinks of me, often. But it isn't Jimmy who thinks about me.
It's those romantic bits of his that do all of Jimmy's thinking.

"So kid, ya married?"
Wellum.. That depends on your definition of married, Jimmy...
"Married.. You know... husband, dog, kid... white fence... the works.."
You gotta be kiddin', Ji....
"LOOK HERE! Do I LOOK LIKE I'm kidding?"

Jimmy pounded the stiff rubber end of his cue stick on the floor three times...

He softened.

"I loves ya baby... I gots ta know..."

"Baby?"

No..... No Jimmy.... I ain't married... Not no more.
"It's yer shot....."
Okay Jimmy....okay....

~ Chapter 33 ~
I decided to eat in the truck today and even though I
was all cramped in there because the cab was full of
groceries, I really enjoyed this first try at a Subway Hot
Pastrami Melt. I like it. Kinda expensive, but I like it.

Monday, February 10, 2014

Oh, hey... Just leave your shopping cart there because
like... it's such a long walk to the cart collection thing.
You can hardly even see it just to the right there.

We're on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley again.
Should we go to Hollywood or Glendale? This trip we go to
Glendale. Too many people in Hollywood nowadays. It's
okay if you have a destination, but if your just cruisin' and
your my age, it ain't all that anymore.

"That's it man, game over man, game over!"
I can't believe how lucky I am (just saying this makes me a huge
nerd) to have found the new NECA "Aliens" Series 1 Xenomorph
Warrior Action Figure at Toys "R" Us. These things have already
gone up in price. And NECA did another great job with this one.
NECA is badass.

This warrior is over nine inches tall. He has over thirty points
of articulation and a bendable tail (which is great to assist in
standing positions). He also has a hinged jaw with that infamous
sliding inner mouth. This one has the bluish paint job (as opposed
to the brown one) and as usual, he will remain unopened.

Giant Darth Vader guys at Toys "R" Us.

The only thing I know about this is that
I'm glad I wasn't standing there.

Monday, February 3, 2014

I haven't had pizza in a while and I need a booster shot.
This photo of a pepperoni pizza I had a while back
makes my mouth water. Not attractive.

Isn't tagging a trashcan in a fast food restroom
kind of low brow?

This is another picture I snapped when my parents took me up
in a private plane in about 1965. I took a few photos of Disneyland
and this was scanned from a contact sheet of them. I'm not sure what
that construction is down there. I think it is New Orleans Square and
Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm not totally sure. You can see the Mark
Twain steamboat docked down there too.
