I bought this a few years ago at FYE. This is a
King Leonidas Resin Mini Bust by NECA. I also
have another of him but he has his helmet on. I need
to get a picture of that guy. Gerard Butler played
King Leonidas in the movie "300" (2006) That movie
was full of bad-assery and 14-pack abs.

I bought "The Homesman" on DVD. It is a total blind
buy. I did watch it. it stars Tommy Lee Jones and Hillary
Swank. The movie is set in the Nebraska frontier of 1854,
and man, at times it is very not pretty. One or two things
happened that I just did not see coming and it was...

I can see myself watching this movie again in a year or two.

C'mon man. Pack it in, pack it out.

In other news, I will be coming into many dollars soon.

This here is a test. I am trying a new way of doing things
because blogger is doing something weird. It's all good.
As they say, it may not be the easy way, but
it's the cowboy way.

Tuesday, July 28, 2015

I took this picture of some sort of a plant growing
on the side of a Quonset hut a few years ago. I was
going to use it as a wallpaper on my computer or
something. Never did.

The T-Shirt Warehouse has thousands of shirts. Five shirts
for ten dollars and the like. But a lot of them are really thin.

Sunday, July 26, 2015

I think this is a fuse box.

Saturday, July 25, 2015

I could never spend much time in a bird's nest.

Just too gross.

Friday, July 24, 2015

I bought Oculus. The price dropped way down.
I've heard it might be good.

"Howdee hey", says the twenty-four year old bendy
giraffe souvenir from the Los Angeles Zoo.

He also says, "Please excuse the dust on
my ossicones."

I remember seeing the trailer for "Flight" in the
theater and I had no interest in seeing it at all.
None. Zip. But I happened to catch a bit of it on
TV the other day and it looked pretty good. As
it turns out it deals with an issue or two that
are close to my heart, so I picked it up and
I will watch it soon.

--------------------------------------------------------------

 ...later on.
I did watch this. Some folks say that this movie is not good. I
thought it was. But it was hard to watch in some places. It
deals with alcoholism (something that I did not know
until I saw that little bit on TV) and the subject can be very
difficult. "Flight" kind of wore me out. It is worth seeing.
Denzel is always good.

I like rural.

Do you ever misspell a word on purpose to see
if SpellCheck is really working? Yeah, me too.

"If you spring me from this cell, I swear on pain of death,
I shall take you to the Black Pearl and your bonnie lass.
Do we have an accord?"

This is my Capt. Jack Sparrow 6.5" NECA Mini Bust.
It is limited to 2500 pieces and is made of hand painted
resin. I bought this some six or so years ago clearance
priced for about ten dollars.

Random "down in town" picture.

Sunday, July 19, 2015

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...
...somebody is pitchin' some woo.
Some nice boy or girl has left a treat to
be discovered by their sweetie.

"The best chicken soup in town."
I have never had it.
I would be more about any possible enchiladas.

Friday, July 17, 2015

I bought "It Follows" on DVD. I watched it.
I will be called ignorant in some circles for
writing this, but I say if you want to see this
movie, wait until it hits the five dollar bin. If
I say why I will spoil the movie for you.

This is the much loved totem pole that my son gave
to me for Christmas some six or seven years ago.
Much to my dismay and over my protests I was
outvoted a month or so ago and it was moved outside.
"Stuff don't last very long out there!", I exclaimed.
I was assured that it would be okay.

And I guess it would have been if there were no
critters of one sort or another running around
and bumping into things during the night.

We've had some nice days for being outdoors
and cooking up a few hot dogs and some beans.

Onions and mustard. That's all I need.
Suits me down to the ground.

I bought "ex machina" (pronounced "ex MA-kee-na").
This is a movie that left me thinking about it for a while. I say
give it a watch for sure. I read other folks thoughts about this movie
after watching it and that made the movie even better for me.
I'm gonna watch it again.

Have you ever had any experience with a "machine" that resembles
a human or an animal? It is going to change things. It is going to bring
out the best and the worst in people.

Cool "Monster" decal.

Waste not, want not.

Sunday, July 12, 2015

As it turns out, my Serta Sheep has a fondness for
card games. And he is good, real good.

Random "On The Way To Town" picture.

Friday, July 10, 2015

I just found out that "Fox has ordered a drama pilot based on the
acclaimed 1980 film Urban Cowboy. It follows Kyle and Gaby,
two star-crossed young lovers, as they pursue their dreams and
passions through the sweat of line-dancing in honky-tonks, the
grime of the oil refineries and the glamour of modern Texas."

I just want you to know that I had
NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS
TERRIBLE IDEA, WHATSOEVER.

(But that IS my Bud and Sissy dog tag.)

Thursday, July 9, 2015

I went to the movies today. I had to park a' waaay out in
the boonies again. I took this picture as I was leaving.
When I got there at 10:30 in the morning all of those
empty spots were full. I think I can pretty much...

...blame it on these guys. Minions had 'em coming in
in droves. I felt bad though when a couple with a little
boy in line in front of me were told that all the showings
were sold out. I hope that little guy gets to see it soon.

Anyway, Terminator Genisys. Rock and roll. It was fun.
A lot of people are not digging this movie and I have to
admit that it was kind of a let down as Terminator movies
go. But if I am looking at it as just trying to have some fun
at the movies? Success. But Jason Clark, enough of him.

Fun Fact: Arnold was right there in that Fat Burger behind
my glasses when San Diego County had the bad brush fires
several years ago. He was meeting with officials or some
such thing. I've written that before.

The nice girl at the ticket booth gave this great Terminator
Genisys Collectible Light Up Pin to me. Huzzah! Score!
This pin is so cool. As it turns out, these pins were given out
on July 1st opening day "while supplies last". Holy cow. They
must have a LOT of 'em. At any rate, I am very appreciative
to have received one of them. The Regal Theater chain rocks.

Oh yeah, with the free movie ticket I earned via the Regal
Movie Club, my 3D IMAX ticket was only $8. Nice.

I had another really nice day.

"WE BUY CANS."

Tuesday, July 7, 2015

In honor of Harrison Ford and his good health after
a very perilous plane crash back in March, here is a
Han Solo mini bust I bought at Comic-N-Stuff
a few short years ago.

And just to balance it out, a mini hangy TIE Fighter.
When I bought this one they also had an X-Wing
Starfighter that I passed on. I went back to get it the
next week and it was gone. Sheesh.

Some of us are very excited for December to roll around.

A museum piece, or ice cream?
You decide.

Sunday, July 5, 2015

Somebody wanted to see my Star Wars Hasbro die cast
Titanium T-47 Sandspeeder so I thought I would take a
couple of pictures of it while I had it out.

My favorite Star Wars vehicle second only the Millennium
Falcon. But I actually prefer the Snowspeeder version.

I wish I had one of these to go tooling around in. I would
freak people out. But I would have mine painted 1966 Surfer-
Orange color. You can still find these little ones on Amazon.

Happy Birthday, America 2015!

Friday, July 3, 2015

I just want to do a little follow up to an entry that I made
on Friday, February 6, 2015 about my 2014 visit to the
Autry Museum of Western Heritage. With regards to the
props from the movie "The Lone Ranger": About Tonto's
railroad spike knife I had written, "For all I know this knife
made from a railroad spike is made of plastic. It looks real
enough, but.... who knows." I have now found information
which was not provided onsite along with the costumes/props.

I was half right. The spike is made of rubber. And that's just
totally cool. The thing looks real. The sheath is made of leather.

I had also written that I couldn't tell what brand of pistol The Lone
Ranger was carrying. Is it Colt? No. Is it Uberti? Nope. Is it EMF?
Nuh-uh. Cimarron? Wrong. Rubber? Bingo! The dang pistol is made
of rubber. It fooled me. Not all that difficult to do, but it got me. It is a
replica Colt single action, .45 caliber painted rubber pistol. So it IS
a Colt I suppose, kinda sorta.

Anyway, this was kind of long, but I hope it was a little interesting.

Thursday, July 2, 2015

I bought this mostly out of curiosity.

Wednesday, July 1, 2015

This is right where the pizza was earlier today.
