I bought "Unhinged" and "Spider-Man: Far From Home"
at Walmart. Unhinged I bought full price but I found just one
SMFFH with a "PROMO" sticker on it left over from Black
Friday. So I didn't pay $18.00 for that. I only paid.... $5.96!

SCORE!

I have not seen Spider-Man yet, but I watched Unhinged and
holy cow! This movie was filled with tension. I rated it an 8.9
out of 10 Candy Cane Scissors. I don't know if it was worth a
full $19.99, but it was close. Russell Crowe is a MADMAN.

It's been raining today (will wonders never cease) and
I came home from work tonight to find this cute little
guy on our door. I could not get a great picture of him.

Today marks my Ten Year Anniversary on Blogger.
I have been on the World Wide Web since 1999, but today
is ten years on Blogger. Not a huge big deal I know, I am
just marking the occasion. And it's not every day
you get a chance to use a monkey in a post.

P.S. Those of you who see "ten yen yen" are highly
susceptible to Jedi mind tricks. This is proof.

This is a pretty big nativity scene that they have
over at Hobby Lobby. I think that it is beautiful.

I left the picture just about full size.

How about a .22 caliber rifle cleaning rod from SEARS?
I have no idea when this was purchased or when it was
made. I inherited it from my beloved stepfather and
never had the opportunity to ask him about it.

The good old days to be certain.

Once again it is Knife Day here at El Rancho De La Tex. Today
I am sharing a knife that I bought in 1984 at Santa Monica Place.
This Victorinox Swiss Army Knife model is called the "Motorist".
It has been out of production for quite some time. I bought the sheath
for it a few days later. That metal rod is a honing rod. This was actually
my very first for real quality well made knife. It marks that spot.

I have this really bad habit of taking knives that I like and locking them
away and never really using them. I did that with this knife. I mean, look
at that sheath. It is almost thirty seven years old. Yikes.

I goofed and did not take a photo of all of the blades and tools out, but it
is pretty standard. No corkscrew though. As I have written before,
I was never a fan of the corkscrew and I don't have a use for it.

This "Motorist" knife is very special to me.

This is the Wenger Swiss Army Knife that I am still carrying in
my bag or purse. I have been carrying this knife for over 15 years.

Besides all of the standard tools, this knife has PLIERS...
and all in a pretty compact package. Perfect for me.

Tuesday, November 17, 2020

If you would have just TOLD me that this fake grass
would add some nice atmosphere to this outdoor dining
area, I would have said, "Yeah... right."

But when I see it in person... it kinda does.

Toilet paper shelves.
A self-fulfilling prophecy it seems.

I like this tree that is kind of growing through a wall
that is further out on our property. It ain't so good
for the wall, but I like how it looks.

this freighter. It was cheap. It is cool.
I bought it for my desk.

~ Happy Halloween 2020 from El Rancho De La Tex ~

Sunday, October 25, 2020

I finally bought a movie that I have really been wanting
to see, and for a long time. I have heard good things about
"Doctor Sleep: The Next Chapter in The Shining Story".
We will see.

All horror, all month.

Personally, I don't think a permit should be required.
Cool sign though.

would rather spray than dribble or drool it.

This is a Fox 40 Micro Safety Whistle. They are very
inexpensive and take up just about no room on your
keychain. If the worst happens and you ever need to
be found, an emergency whistle will save your voice
and the whistle's sound will travel further.

"Three loud, short blasts on your whistle, each lasting
approximately three seconds. While you're blowing, count to
three in your head during each blast so it lasts
approximately three seconds."

You can buy them in two or three packs online.

I thought I would reminisce a bit today. This is the
very first Spirit Halloween Store I ever visited.

This was in September of 2007. There was
NOBODY there. They would have it at this
location once or twice more.

My very first Spirit Halloween Store haul. I have shown
this awful mask before. The skull is common, glows
in the dark and is fun. A lot of them have their own
personalities as they are pretty cheap and often one is
a different shape then the next. Ya takes yer pick.

They were fun then, but Spirit stores have become
even better over the years.

It's that time of year again!
This picture is actually from our Annual Halloween
Crawl of 2019. We are looking forward to whatever type of
Halloween activities we can squeeze out of this weird year.

I started my scary movie watching month a day or two
early with a viewing of Midsommar. Kind of freaky.
I think when I figure out more about it, it will seem
even more freaky. I am not reading anything about
it yet. I want to watch it again first. I did enjoy it.

I spent a lot of the movie just looking for Easter eggs as
I know there have to be many. Easter eggs are fun.

I also felt really bad for that girl Dani,
until the very very end... I think.

If I could get a nickel for every
"it", I would be up a quarter.

With everything that is going on this year, with things
being kind of weird out there, my son and I unfortunately
decided that this year we will not be going on our Annual
Halloween Store Crawl for 2020. We may hit one store up
if we find ourselves out and around, but it is not likely.

It just doesn't seem like much fun with all the requirements.

We are looking forward to 2021!

!!! Avocado Seed Update: Number Six !!!

More growth, a lot more. They say you need
some patience to grow an avocado plant. That
is a major understatement. And another thing that
you need is a memory. You need to remember
to add water to this seed just about every day.
That water evaporates... FAST.

Stay tuned!

On Saturday February 15th, 2020 I put this avocado seed
in water and posted a photo. I will update again
in about a month. It's fun!
