You know what they say about Southern California... One minute
you are enjoying snow in the mountains, and a short time later you
are soaking up the rays on the beaches of the Pacific Ocean. Later
still you can be dining in Cancun and still be just a hop, skip and
a jump away from The Home Depot.

This is my One Million Dollar bill. Not real. I suppose I don't even
have to write that. These bills can be purchased from the "International
Association of Millionaires" to use for any number of reasons. Or
just to have for yourself.

Actually, these things make no sense. They are worth nothing.
(At this time you can still find the International
Association of Millionaires on the Net.)

It's another good day to be an American and this
mural on the side of a mom and pop vegetable
stand reminds us of that.

~ Thanksgiving 2014 ~

This was good. This was real good.
Thanks mom!

I took this picture of our "new" Walmart today.
Back on Sunday, March 30, 2014 I wrote:
"I went to this new Walmart. It's really amazing how
nice they are inside before the masses find them."

Well, the masses have found it.

This is what a lot of the store looks like now. You cannot blame
Walmart employees. You can't stay on top of this. Am I being
anal? No. There is no reason for customers to leave the
aisles like this.

I did get the Blu-ray of Mad Max The Road Warrior today. Then
on the way home I remembered that I have had the Mad Max box
set on my Amazon Wish List just waiting for the price to go down.
So why did I buy this? One answer: I am a dolt. But oh well. The
best laid plans I guess. Squeak.

I'm gonna start a rock and roll band.

Somewhere there is a five foot long rattler who is
feeling as fresh as a daisy.

I live in the mountains, in an area where there is not much lawn.
Sitting on a nice lawn is rare anymore. I took this picture of a lawn
that looks pretty inviting. Like a nice park. A nice picnic spot.

Who'da thunk it was at Jack in the Box fast food
restaurant. I guess that I will not picnic there after all.

It's was time for my annual trip to Bath and Body Works to
pick up the seasonal body lotion called Vanilla Bean Noel. If
you are into lotions, you need to try this. Like I say all the time,
this lotion makes me feel like I am a pancake sitting on a plate
of maple syrup.

If you find yourself walking by a B&BW step inside and try it.

I don't know what this is.

How about some hats from the Indian Store today?

Here are a few Boss of the Plains style hats. I didn't
look at the label, but they're most likely made of wool.

I don't know what this style is called, but also probably made
of wool. They look like hats that "medicine men" would wear.

And here are some totally fake cowboy hats. Today's
lame ass pop "country music" stars and Pamela
Anderson wear these things. These are just a step
above (maybe) Shady Brady hats.

I really love cactus. I always hate to see it in this condition.
Cactus can grow so fast and be so plentiful that
folks don't give it no nevermind.

It was a beautiful day and I went to the movies for the first
time in (what is for me) quite a while.

I saw Interstellar with Matthew McConaughey. I took
this really terrible picture of the movie's poster before...

...I went into Theater 6.

Interstellar was pretty darn good. If you like love and family
and sci-fi and wormholes and black holes and space and planety
stuff, there is a good chance you will enjoy Interstellar. I didn't
look at anything about Interstellar before I went and I was really
surprised to see all of the actors and actresses that kept popping up.

And Matthew? He was totally Mcfinenaughey as usual.

And to top off the day, I captured a mid-air jacket toss
in the background of my tickets picture, kind of.
Life, so Olympian. So good.

Today Billie Joe McAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie Bridge.*
Not really, but it seemed to fit this bridge not far from home.

I broke down and bought some Flavacol. Have you heard
of this stuff? I hadn't. It is supposedly the missing link to
making movie theater quality popcorn at home. I haven't
opened it yet. I guess it is flakes that add the yellow
color to your popcorn and the salt flavor and a bit more.

You're supposed to add it to your corn before popping.
This could be a major fail. I dunno. I am going to try it
hopefully next week sometime. I will report back. Over.

Staring contest, mate. I win. Aaaarrrr.

I have "A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's The Great Pumpkin,
Charlie Brown". But so far, until today, "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
has eluded moi. No longer Ladies and Gents, Boys and Girls.

No longer.

I really like these medical buildings. Unfortunately I could
not get a good photo showing how green the glass
is on this guy. The day was very overcast.
No colors going on.

~ Veterans Day 2014 ~

Sunday, November 9, 2014

This is my Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Mad Hatter
Doll. This is out of the Barbie Collection and it's made by
Mattel. The movie came out in 2010 and this time The
Hatter was played by Johnny Depp.

I hemmed and hawed when I saw this figure at Big Lots
back in December of 2010, but I finally gave in and I'm
glad that I did. This is a beautiful 12 inch figure.

Mannequin shows interest.

Friday, November 7, 2014

This is just a cheap piece of Halloween costume that I
bought about seven years ago. I just hung it up and have
it hanging around.

My mom knows that I love popcorn so when she saw this
little page of popcorn trivia in some newspaper, she clipped
it out and gave it to me. I scanned it and I am sharing it with
you. If you love popcorn, it might be a fun little read. If you
do not love popcorn, it will not be. (You may have to open
it in a new window so it is big enough to read.)

After a few cooler days and cold nights, today was warm
and the sunset was almost golden. I took this picture on
one side of our home.

Cold weather is coming though and this
kindling will become a good friend.

~ I like it when my incense burns like this. ~

Tuesday, November 4, 2014

The Christmas movies are out at Walmart.

Maleficent came out on Blu-ray and DVD today. I really liked
this movie when I saw it in the theater earlier this year and I can't
wait to watch it again. Maybe tonight if there is time. There is
one part in this movie that makes me SO angry. A real reason
to hate (that's right I said it!) a character. Arg. I can't wait to see
this character get theirs again... That is... if they do.
I aint'a sayin' no more.

Oh, and I bought a new Zippo lighter today. This one is called
"Americana Distressed". Yes, it was an impulse buy. No, I didn't
need it as I have the horseshoe Zippo lighter as well. And yes, even
though I don't smoke, I will use it for other things every day. I will
rotate the two depending on my awesome ever changing mood.

I took these pictures on my trip to the Gene Autry Museum
of Western Heritage in August of 2014. This is out in
front of the entrance. No ticket needed to enjoy it.

This is a beautiful bronze statue depicting Pony Express riders
carrying Abraham Lincoln's inaugural address from a telegraph
station in Nebraska to newspapers here in the Golden State
of California. I really like how the artist has done the leather
fringe on the riders coat.

This statue was cast in 2007 and was sculpted (if sculpted is the
right word) by Douglas Van Howd.

One bit of information that I always forget that surprises a lot of
folks is that the Pony Express was only in operation for eighteen
months. If you would like to enlarge this photo,
the plaque tells all about the statue.

This statue was new to me. It was not there during my last
visit in August of 2012.

'Tis official then, buckos.
