In all my years of owning and shooting firearms
I have never seen such a thing as the thing that
I saw at Walmart the other day.

This is a "Shoe Top Barrel Rest" made by the Allen
Company. Apparently you attach this leather pad to
to top of your shoe. You are then able to comfortably
rest the barrel of your shotgun on your
foot in-between shooting trap.

! UNLOADED WITH THE ACTION OPEN !

Now, I was taught and always go with the rule "Never
point your firearm at ANYTHING you are not willing
to kill or destroy." So far I am not willing to kill my foot.

I saw somebody on the Internet get creamed by trap
shooting folks for criticizing this product. Oh well.
I feel our feet are safer than theirs. We do the best we
can the Lord willing.

This cannot be stressed enough.
Be safe out there folks.

I bought "Terminator: Dark Fate". I did not get to see it in the theater.
All I know about this movie is that it is a direct sequel to "Terminator 2".
T2 is a 10 out of 10 Model T-1000s movie.

If Dark Fate is just half as good, it stands a chance. I will find out.
I paid what they were asking for this movie because I need to
complete my Terminator collection. I still need "Salvation" on Blu-ray.

Ta-daaaa!

Tonight we watched "Friday the 13th: Part 3" on the
BIG screen at Borden Cinema. Actually it is my son's
setup with his ten foot screen. It was the first movie we
watched on the big screen and it. was. AWESOME.

Above is my favorite F13 character, Shelly Finkelstein.
Here he is in the little market tossing his wallet to Vera
right before the unfortunate incident with Fox the biker
chick and then with Ali and the motorcycles. *shiver*

I cannot WAIT for the next movie at
Big Screen Borden Cinema.

Happy National Popcorn Day!

This is my Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales
popcorn tin. This movie was released in 2017, but I have
had this tin since 2010. Go figure.

This is the top of the tin. I will be watching a movie at
Borden Cinema tonight (not sure what is showing yet)
and I will be enjoying a big ol' bucket of buttered popcorn.

Celebrate!

The 2nd Amendment morale patch I bought
last week is now (at least for a time) on my
bedroom door.

My son bought a pretty big movie screen..... So now,
on occasion, Borden Cinema will be Borden CINEMA.

I will have to sacrifice and help to keep
these from going to waste.

I'm goin' in!

Kind of boring I know, but I found a popcorn
bucket with the design I like for $1.25.

Wednesday, January 8, 2020

I had a banana banana smoothie at Surf City today.
This is the first one I have had in a few years.
It was a GOOD-un.

A patch I picked up at the
Army Navy store today.

Here is where Artoo that I bought at Comics-N-Stuff
resides now. Right in-between Luke's Landspeeder
and the Millennium Falcon. You are looking at
four birthdays here.

And I had also gone to World Market yesterday to
stock up on incense. I splurged and bought some
jalapeno stuffed Greek olives. These are World
Market's own brand and are not inexpensive
(to me) at $4.99, but they are soooo good. Once
every year or four I will buy a jar. REALLY good.

I went to Comics-N-Stuff today. They have a LOT of figures
that I would love to have, but as you know I have no more room.
So any new figures are off limits for now. Less expensive and
space gobbling are the old kid's meals toys and such that
they have tons of in big ol' bins. For the last few years
on my Annual Birthday Extravaganza visits I usually
just buy one of these type little things.

This is what I bought this year. This little R2-D2 toy was made for
Burger King kid's meals in 2005. This is the "Star Wars Episode
III: Revenge of the Sith" Artoo. I looked him up online and his special
trick is squirting water, like a squirt gun. This is below Artoo's dignity
and I can assure you that there will be no squirting of water while
Artoo is in my company. I will post a picture of R2-D2's place at The
Ranch in the future.

I thought Spencer's had closed, but they just
moved upstairs, theming and all.

This was all was a lot more long
winded than I wanted it to be.

!!! Huzzah !!!
I received a new popcorn popper for my birthday! This
is "The Original Spinner" popper made by the Great Northern
Popcorn Company. My Whirley Pop brand Popcorn Popper died
on me in July of 2018 (after almost five years of heavy use) and I am
excited to have this new one. I will be poppin' again in a day or two.

Oh, and here is a picture I took today of some cactus. There is
always a new growth or two or a hundred to take pictures of.

A very nice day.

Because in the San Diego area, that's the way they roll.

Friday, January 3, 2020

Here are a couple of things I picked up today during my
2020 Birthday Week Extravaganza. One is an Opinel knife.
I have always wanted an Opinel. This is a very small one.
Also a Sea to Summit Spork and Knife set. I love outdoor
cookware and utensils. Time to try these.

I also went over to Fry's Electronics. I don't know what is
going on with Fry's. The store's shelves are empty. Going
out of business? I sure hope not. That would be sad to me.
One thing is for sure, their prices have not been cut. The
above photo illustrates how few DVDs and Blu-rays they
have anymore. Took me five minutes to not buy anything.

 Today during my Birthday Week
Extravaganza I went to see...

..."Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker".

It was a lot of fun. I love Kylo Ren and I love Rey and I love
them together. But anyhow, no spoilers. I can't rate it yet as
I am not sure how I WOULD rate it. I will buy it when it comes
out on Blu-ray and give it another watch. But it is DEFINITELY
worth seeing.

Tomorrow the Extravaganza continues.

~ Happy New Year 2020, from Lizzy Tex Borden ~

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 ~ 11:30 P.M. ~
When I got out of work tonight to start my
2020 Birthday Week Extravaganza, I pulled
into the gas station to have a full tank for tomorrow.

While standing at the gas pump I looked down and
ka-BAM! THREE LUCKY COINS AT MY FEET.
THREE of 'em. I hope this is a sign for the coming week.

That would be good.
