The moon over El Rancho De La Tex.
Can you hear the coyotes?

This is a droid in the queue of Star Tours v.1 circa 2003 at
Disneyland in Anaheim, California. I'm not sure which droid
it is or even if this photo is upside-down or not.
My son took the picture.

~ Chapter 16 ~
So two of 'em step out to the balcony.
One has a phone.
"Hello? Hello?? Pick up, damn it."

Happy National Day Of The Cowboy 2014!
July 26th is National Day Of The Cowboy. NDOTC is
dedicated to (from the website) "preservation of America's Cowboy
heritage so that the history and culture which the United States
Congress's National Day of the Cowboy resolution honors,
can be shared and perpetuated for the public good, through education,
the arts, celebrations, gatherings, rodeos, and community activities."

My NDOTC picture of this year shows the little saguaro cactus and
rattlesnake figures I bought in and around Arizona, an awesome cowboy
state. I love Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada.

Late night order.

Late night traffic.

Monday, July 21, 2014

Many many many years ago when drive-thru fast food was
a new thing, it was all about the placing your order with the
magic guy in the "Jack-In-The-Box" box and such. "Mom? Is
there really a man inside of there?!" Those days are
gone, junior.

I never thought I would see anything like spray
candy. It's like breath spray, but it's candy spray.

A big bug on a bank.

Friday, July 18, 2014

My posting has been a little weird lately because... well, because
I've been sick. A couple of days ago I had a 102-103 degree temp
for two days in a row, only going to to 99-100 on the third day. The
fever is gone now but I am left with a lingering G awful cough among
other things. Living on the drops for a while. But I will be less
weird soon. Dreams you have during fevers suck.

I kinda know what this is, but I don't know how it got
this way or why.

I have now not had pizza since the first week of  March.
This is bad. This is real bad.

Is this tiny 1.5 inch SpongeBob SquarePants that my son
got for me out of a toy machine some years ago diving
off of a board or meditating?

You decide.

Monday, July 14, 2014

I went over to Toys "R" Us armed with a 20% off coupon.
I hadn't been there for a few months. I found one cool guy.
Neca's Caesar from "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" which
is in theaters currently. I just watched "Rise of the Planet of
the Apes" the other night and I am all primed for the follow
up. I can't get a great picture of Caesar but he looks good.

I've heard a lot of folks say they don't want to go
back here, especially in the movies.

DICK'S!
Such a beautiful day to go to Dick's, even if you come out
empty handed, which I did. I keep looking for an MSR
Alpine Fry Pan. So far, no luck.

Man, three-thirty in the afternoon and In-N-Out Burger has a
line like this?! The burgers are good, but.... three-thirty in the
afternoon? I timed the wait. Twenty-two minutes. Holy cow.

I deposited my tax return today so I splurged and ordered
something that I have not had in years... A chocolate shake.
It was pretty good, but $2.10 for this size? It's the only size
they have and looks small. Maybe I am just out of the
chocolate shake price loop.

It was really thick too. Kind of difficult to drink while eating. Sort
of like having a delicious pizza sitting in front of you that's too
hot to eat. Not much made me happy today I guess. Except
for my tax return and Caesar. They made me happy.

Here are a few photos of some absolutely gorgeous
pistols that are on display at the Gene Autry Museum
of Western Heritage in Griffith Park, California. These
photos were taken in August of 2012. If you love
Colt single action pistols, prepare to drool.

{============================================}

The first pistol was was owned by Gene Autry himself. This
pistol was manufactured in 1934 and was engraved with
Gene's name by Orville J. Kuhl. It is serial number 355121.
I am not big on gold plated or engraved, but it is beautiful.

Second pistol up is serial number 139970, manufactured in
1891 (awesome) and was owned by one of my all time all
time (yes I said it twice!) actors, Tim Holt. If you've never
seen a Tim Holt western, you're missing out.

And last but not least is my favorite pistol of the group. This
pistol belonged to Gail Davis who was most well known for
her portrayal of Annie Oakley on the 1950's television show
of the same name. This pistol is serial number 1568SA and
was manufactured in 1956. Of the three, this is the one I would
love to own. This is what a Colt Single Action Army is supposed
to look like. Color case hardening makes my knees weak.

"I caught you a delicious bass."

Just a quick note.
Sold this at the swap meet for pennies on the dollar.
If whoever bought this can make it work for them,
they got a rockin' deal.

I've been using this Whirley Pop popper just about
weekly for eight months and it has turned out to make
the greatest home popcorn I've had yet. If this broke
tomorrow, I would buy another one without hesitation.
This thing pops every. single. kernel. every. single. time.

There. Done.

This is the inside of an "antiques" store in Julian, California.

Not more then one or two little things there caught my eye.
I didn't buy anything.

Four guys who would not hang together if they were not in my

Puppet from Saw.

~ July 4th, 2014 ~

Every July 4th it is our tradition to watch The Boston Pops
Fireworks Spectacular with Keith Lockhart (I love that guy)
directing the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra. This year it
was actually broadcast last night (July 3rd) due to approaching
inclement weather. So tonight we watched it via YouTube.

The fireworks show at the end is outstanding... and long.
Boom! Boom! BOOMBOOMBOOM!!! It goes on and on.
Lousy pictures, always an awesome show.

Insidious 2. I have the first one and I really want to
see where this one will take us. I want to be scared.
The price came down so now I will find out and hopefully
will be... scared. Hoo-rah!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

...later that night.

Oh look. It's Carl. Carl and his friends are onscreen at the
Borden Cinema and they are trying to scare the bajeezes out of
Tex and it is working. Some movies in surround sound are very
effective and Insidious 2 is one of 'em. I keep looking behind me
because I am freaked out. This was a fun movie.

Are you ready kids???!!!
OHHHHHHH ...... Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
SpongeBob SquarePants!
Absorbent and yellow and porous is..... Wait, wrong guy.

Just a little nautical humor. Very little says you thinks I.
Oh well...

If nautical nonsense be something you wish!
Then drop on the deck and flop like a fish!
