The last day of 2018 is proving to be a slightly wet one,
which is always good for 'ol California. And
it's been a heck of a year, hasn't it?

A Jimi Hendrix poster I earned selling magazine
subscriptions when I was in the seventh grade.

I wasn't too experienced then, but I started
becoming experienced shortly thereafter.

Just a (real) short. Cooking up a few taters.

The payoff.

Thursday, December 27, 2018

My son made sure that it snowed every night at
El Rancho De La Tex during November and December.

Well, I had another tooth pulled today. This one hurt quite a bit
afterwards, but it is a good kind of hurt as it is resolving an issue
that has given me a lot of pain for the last nine days.

Look at all that gauze. I think I was suppose to bleed a lot.
I go back in five days to have the stitches removed.

A better picture of the beautiful
Christmas tree in my dentist's office.

~ Merry Christmas 2018 from Lizzy Tex Borden ~

Santa, stop here.

Wednesday, December 12, 2018

On the way home from work last night one of
my teeth felt kind of funny. Today it was pulled.

That was WAY out of the blue.

The Christmas tree in my dentist's office.

"Citizen! There is nowhere to run. Please immediately
return to the store with the stolen merchandise. An
officer will be waiting for you. Failure to comply
will result in physical intervention.
I repeat: Citizen!..."

It's Mission Impossible Day here at The Ranch!
I had seen "Mission Impossible: Fallout" at the
theater and KNEW I was going to buy the Blu-ray
when it was released.... and I did. This is the sixth
Mission in the series and it does not let down.

The booklet is small enough to fit in the Blu-ray case
and is ten pages (including the cover and back). It
has photos of some of the stunts and descriptive
quotes about them. One of them says that Tom Cruise
learned to fly a helicopter just for this movie. I didn't
know that this little booklet came with the movie so it
was a pleasant little surprise.

I watched the movie again and it was great fun the
second time around. I rate this movie nine out of
ten Broken Ankles.

Wednesday, December 5, 2018

I went to the movies on this rainy day. All of my Regal
Crown Club points are set to expire next month. I need
to go to a few movies so they are not wasted.

The "Possession of Hannah Grace". Bad choice. Bad bad choice.
I think they were banking on yet another girl who could contort her
body while they added some bone cracking noises to make this movie
scary. It did not work. Went nowhere. I've seen worse. But.... If you
want to see this movie, wait until it shows up in the $3.74 bin at
Walmart. Because it will. I rate this movie 4.5 out of 10 Xanax.

A little rain.

While out and about, driving through some
much needed rain, I spotted a rainbow.

Pretty happy today. While doing regulars at Walmart I was
happy to find out that there were quite a few left-overs from
Black Friday. Most of these movies I wanted to see in the
theaters, but because of time or money I was unable to.

All of them I wanted to buy but because money has been a
little scarce this year I was waiting awhile. I really wanted
the Blu-ray versions of these movies, but hey, for the price?
DVDs will work. If I want the Blu-rays down the line, then
maybe. All of the *DVDs were $3.96 with the exception of
"Annihilation" which was $5.96. I can't wait to watch these.

File this under: "More Than You Wanted to Know".

*"Home Alone" is the Blu-ray and DVD edition.

A hawk out looking for lunch.

I cannot ever get a very good picture of them.

~ Happy Thanksgiving 2018 from Lizzy Tex Borden ~

Wednesday, November 14, 2018

In about 1991 or 1992 we had a huge beautiful tropical fish
tank. It was really something wonderful to just sit and watch.
Anyway, this skeleton hand sat in the bottom of it... just
looking really cool. Besides the skeleton hand, my
favorite things in the tank were the little crabs.

The hand is dated 1989.

Monday, November 12, 2018

I inherited this guy who is missing his hand.
He is Pinhead from the Puppet Master movies.

I think whoever created this guy
has done some weird drugs.

~ Honoring our Veterans - 2018 - Thank You! ~

Thursday, November 8, 2018

In September of 1999 the interchange at the Golden State and
Ventura freeways in East San Fernando Valley California
was named after Gene Autry in his honor.

Another beautiful sunset at El Rancho De La Tex.
My mom took this picture.

Tuesday, November 6, 2018

I went to my beautiful polling place to cast my vote
today. The reason I received two "I Voted" stickers is
because I dropped off my mom's ballot as well.

America. So good.

- Live plant / Dead plant -
It looks like some sort of cruel experiment.

From the Amarillo Texas Entertainment Guide 1970.
The Country Barn Steak House and Lounge. I bet the
food is glorious. Just look at them steaks! And the
"Jet Naples Combo" is up as the entertainment.
Perfect date night.
(I left it big so if you care to open the scan
in a new browser it is easier to read)

Festus says it is some good
vittles and Festus don't lie.

~ Rest in Peace Pat "Jet" Naples~

I think that my mom was really committed
to getting a picture of this spider.

Happy Halloween 2018 from Lizzy Tex Borden!

Sunday, October 21, 2018

I've never seen it do this before.

Saturday, October 20, 2018

Grrrrrrrr.... RUFF! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr... RUFF RUFF!
And WOOF!

Friday, October 19, 2018

Our annual viewing of "It's the Great Pumpkin
Charlie Brown" took place at Borden Cinema
tonight. This show is really good. A must see
every year. "I got a rock." Hilarious... and sad.

Thursday, October 18, 2018

Perfect for the month of October... If you want
to see a movie with "an ending", here you go.
Do not look into it. Just watch it.

Wednesday, October 17, 2018

I bought this Living Dead Doll about eight years ago.
This is Billy the Puppet from the "SAW" movie franchise.
These dolls seem to be really well made. And there are so
many of them. I wish that I had the money and
the room to collect more.

Tuesday, October 16, 2018

Pretty impressive tubes.

Friday, October 12, 2018

You're just a Coca-Cola Cactus.

It's a beautiful but "Red Flag Warning" kinda
day here looking to the right of  The Ranch.

Thursday, October 11, 2018

I had always been holding off on buying the movie
"It's a Wonderful Life" because they always want
so much for it. But when I was at the thrift store the
other day I found it new in the cellophane for $2.99.

Waiting for ten years or so paid off!

Wednesday, October 10, 2018

Back on Sunday, September 3, 2017 I had written
that I inherited little Minnie Mouse here and that
I really like her. Never suspecting that...

...when my mom and I decided to mosey about and
do a little poking around in a thrift store or two that...

...I would find Mickey Mouse! The second I saw Mickey on
the shelf among hundreds of other items I was pretty darn sure
that I had his exact match sweetheart a'settin on my shelf
at home. $3.99 and a long ride home later, they were reunited.
Don't you just love happy endings?

Sunday, October 7, 2018

Just as with pizza, I like to look at my
bacon and potatoes from time to time.
