Yep. It's a bit cooler around here today.
We do not see snow on these
mountains very often.

This mountain a bit further away seems
to have LOTS of snow.

I took this picture a day or two later and it appears that

more snow has fallen. Not THAT much, but some.

It sure is COLD out here. Too cold fer me.

Another trip to Comics-N-Stuff.

From my 2012 visit to the Gene Autry Museum of Western

Heritage in Griffith Park, California. I don't have the name

of the person who these guns and this leather belonged to.

All I know is that they are real nice to look at. I left the photo

big so that the flower carving in the leather can be appreciated.

The pistols are Colts. I really like those grips. I'd like to have
some like that. I have no idea who made the leather.

Cactus along our road.

This is a scan of a photo I took at the Disneyland

Hotel sometime in the early 1990s. Those pedal boats

are a lot of fun, even under the hot sun, but they can

be brutal if you are out of shape.

My son was very young at the time and all he wanted

to do was steer to one wall. I was peddling like no tomorrow
in an effort to take us on a "tour of the bay" but we just kept
bumping into one wall. I guess he liked that wall.
A lot.

Of course, this place no longer exists.

We had great times at the hotel.

~ Knife Day at El Rancho De La Tex ~

My mom gave me some cold hard cash for my birthday last
month, so I retired my Victorinox Swiss Army Classic
SD Tiger Print knife (a discontinued pattern) and
bought a standard Classic SD. This knife is a beater.
I am sure it will serve me well.

I have never had a Victorinox knife turn out to be a lemon.

This guy is about 10 inches tall and I cannot even

remember when or where I got him.

I was thinning out one of my dresser drawers (which was

apparently badly needed) and I came across this 10.5 x 16

inch tin sign. It had been laying face down flat at the bottom

of the drawer for MANY years and... out of sight, out of mind.

I vaguely remember somebody giving it to me, had to be almost

twenty years ago. Looking at it, I remember why it wasn't a favorite

of mine. First of all, her smile is just kind of.... off. There is something

a little bit creepy about it (sorry lady).

Second of all, that is not a single action Colt pistol she is holding. It

should be a single action, i.e., a "cowboy pistol".
I like the leather though. Nice color and a traditional design.
Anyway, I will find an out of the way place for it.
Probably the garage.
