From my last trip to the Gene Autry Museum in Griffith Park,
California, August 2014. This is the shotgun used by "Black Bart"
from 1875 to 1882. He used this firearm unloaded to rob 27
California stages.

He would often leave "crude" poetry behind signed, "The Po-8".
This caught the public's attention and so did a handkerchief he left
behind with a laundry mark that led police to Charles Boles in a San
Francisco boarding house. "Black Bart" eventually served 4 years
in prison. Wells Fargo exhibited this shotgun at the Chicago
World's Fair in 1893.
