Laaaa la la, la laaaa!
(A bunny I bought at the Dollar Store.)

Here in back of a bunch of other stuff is a figure I picked up
a few years ago. McFarlane's Simpsons Series 2 "Good and
Evil Homer". Doesn't everybody love Homer Simpson. Well,
I 'spect not I guess. But I do. This is a great figure.

Oh, and  Ned Flanders says, "Heidely-ho, neighbor!"

I had a five dollar coupon for Sports Authority that I
received when I joined their "club". It was set to expire
so I went over there to use it. I knew exactly what I
wanted: This Nalgene 32 oz Narrow Mouth Water Bottle.
I have others with the wide mouth and wanted this one
for different reasons. Awesome color. Makes me thirsty.

Big Lots was close by so I went over there for the first time
in ages to check out the movie section. I ended up buying
more movies than I have in a month of Sundays.

I bought two Blu-rays: "In the Line of Fire" with Clint (I don't
even have to type his last name) and John Malkovich. John
is absolutely magnetic in this one. When it came out this
movie was getting everybody's attention because Clint was
seen to.......... cry a bit in one scene. Nobody could believe
it, but he does (cry a little), but it is appropriate and it plays well.

The second one is called "Helldriver" and I have no idea but it
looks fun.

I also bought a few DVDs: "The Omen" remake which is supposed
to suck, and "Martha Marcy May Marlene" I have heard for a few
years that MMMM is a pretty good thriller. Im'a gonna see.

And one more DVD for today: "The Perfect Host" starring David Hyde
Pierce who I think plays some bad guy of sorts. That I gotta see.
I saw the preview a couple of years ago and it looks good.

Edit: I watched it. Oh man, that was a goodun. So much fun.
I don't want to give it away so I will just say three things:
David Hyde Pierce. Conga line. Psychotic.
For $3 this is a kick butt movie.

After all of that I had a bacon burger at Tom's.

I had been putting off buying these .22 brass and
tornado bore brushes for my gun cleaning kit for
a long time because I didn't need them that badly.
They are seven or so dollars at Walmart. But last
week it fit into the budget so I purchased them.

This is the very first gun cleaning kit I every bought. It
is a Hoppe's brand kit and I bought it on June 4th, 1985.
It doesn't snap closed anymore so I hold it together
with two big rubber bands. It ran about $7.99.

I love this kit and it has a lot of memories for me. I have
added and taken away from it over the years but the core
of the kit is still in there. I have spent a lot of time with
that there cleaning rod.

You can see stuff I have added. I prefer the plastic jags
over brass. The brass jags just feel..... harsh. And I
do not run the patches through with a slotted jag like so
many seem to do. I push them through with a regular jag.
(You needed to know.)

Several years ago I sent away for this Hoppe's Commemorative
gun cleaning kit. It is tin and embossed. Really cool. I bought
it as a gift for my son when he buys his first firearm.

So far though, he is not doing the gun thing, so the kit remains
hidden away and will be a surprise for him one day... or not.

Hoppe's (pronounced hop-eez) rules.

When you are out in practically the middle of nowhere and you
just want to get home and a tree falls bout a quarter mile up the
road blocking the heck out of it.

Another fast food safari. This time a taco from Del Taco.
Inexpensive and pretty good, as fast food goes.

Sunday, May 24, 2015

I put this picture on Twitter with the caption "Without a doubt this is
the greatest selfie I have ever taken." It's not even me. Heh heh.

I love these oak trees where I live.

"Lucy" finally came down in price so I picked it up. Written and
directed by Luc Besson meant I was pretty sure I would like it.
Luc Besson did "The Fifth Element", "Leon the Professional" and
"La Femme Nikita". And yep, I watched and it was a lot of fun. I've
seen a few movies lately that were two hours plus long that didn't
maybe need to be. This one was ninety minutes long and I wanted
two hours of it. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.

Scarlett Johansson is becoming a favorite. Morgan Freeman, well,
he is Morgan Freeman (which is great) and Min-sik Choi has done
great stuff like "Old Boy" and "I Saw the Devil" and "Lucy"
is another goodun.

Do Not Enter.
Just a random shot in town.

...and I bought a Moby CD, The Very Best of. I really like
some Moby and can leave a lot of it. But the stuff I like I
REALLY like. His song "First Cool Hive" from the "SCREAM"
movie soundtrack is beautiful. His song "Porcelain" was used
in the movie "The Beach" and that is another haunting song.

I also like "We Are All Made of Stars". Great stuff from a guy
who is totally surprised that he ever was good enough to
have a "best of" CD.

I found a Kenny G. CD that I don't have!
Woo-hoo!

Wait a sec. I saw that. I SAW that. That look.
You ARE judging me. I am so. dis. appointed.

I told ya I was totally excited to see
Mad Max: Fury Road, so here I am.

I've posted pictures of this lobby before,
but what the hay. This was today.

I can't get enough of theater rugs. This is not the
most colorful one in the world, but I still like it.

Let's see, Mad Max: Fury Road... I have been so excited
to see this for a sooooo long. I'm not sure how I feel about
it. As a side note: When the screen instructed us to put our
"Real 3D" glasses on, from four rows below me and off to
the left hand side I heard, "WOW! I like how those glasses
on the screen just really stand out!" like the guy is in his own
little theater. I thought, "Oh no... Here we go. We got a loud
one." But fortunately, he was good for the rest of the movie.
Either that or the movie was so loud that I just couldn't hear him.

ANYWAY... I want to see this movie again. I will buy it on
Blu-ray when it comes out. It didn't thrill me. Maybe it was
just my mood. Maybe I was hoping for too much.
And I'm not sure it needed to be in 3D.

On the way home I stopped to get a Diet Coke and here is the
cup. It's promoting the movie "San Andreas". Okay, I've been
through plenty of earthquakes in California. The first big one I
experienced was the Sylmar quake. Another fun one was the
Northridge quake in in 1994.

Seriously, the last thing I want to do is experience these as
entertainment. Hey, I am conditioned. If I even think I feel
a shake the first thing I do is look for hanging objects or the
like to see if there is any movement. I'm sure that here in
California I am not alone with that. I will not be seeing this
movie. Earthquakes freak me the Hell out.

I don't see how anybody who lives on or near the San
Andreas fault would be able to sit in a theater and watch this.

Must be over ten years now since a friend gave me this
Lemax Spooky Town Ghost Galleon. She does the whole
Lemax Halloween display and when I admired her Ghost
Galleon, she surprised me with my own. It's a pirate thing.

I finally had my favorite food again. This is the first time
I've had pizza since last September. Sbarro's Pizza.
Not the best at all. But it's PIZZA!

After I finished eating and all the way home I kept feeling
a burning sensation on my cheek. Later at home while I was
removing my make-up I realized that I had a piece of red
crushed pepper stuck to my face. It looked like a crushed
pepper beauty mark. How embarrassing.
Anyway, it left a red burn mark.

I went to the movies today for the first time in a few months.

On the way in I spotted this kinda cool display for the movie
called Tomorrowland with George Clooney. I was really
anticipating this movie until today when I saw a featurette
for it before today's movie. I think they are going to Goonie/
Super 8 it. Looks like a kid's movie. Color me disappointed.

Anyway, into the show!.... Avengers! Age of Ultron!
Tony Stark! IMAX! 3D!

It was fun. Not as good as the last one I'm thinkin', but fun.
I am more of an Iron Man girl than Avengers for the most
part anyway. But worth seeing? Yes. In the theater? Yes.
I like the blue color of the "bridge of the nose killer" 3D
glasses this time. Oh shoot! Once again I accidentally
didn't drop them in the bucket. *blush* Oh well, souvenir.

On the way home I stopped by Target to pick up their exclusive
American Sniper Steelbook. They go fast. There were only two
left. Can't wait to watch this one again. Gotta be in the mood.

After Target I bought some Carl's Jr. Chicken Tenders. It was
an experiment. It was scary. But hey, they were good and unlike
McDonald's I think there was chicken in there!

Oh! And as part of The Regal Club I earned another free movie
ticket. Huzzah! Mad Max: Fury Road here I come. It was a fun day.

This is the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Exclusive
I.D. tag that came with my son's last Loot Crate.
He let me have it. I am going to use it to get in
to see my favorite agent, Phillip Coulson.
I pretty sure it will work.

The little fox with the weight of the world on his shoulders
(head) is looking especially cute today, I think.

When you live on a grove there are always
lots of spare parts around.

Monday, May 11, 2015

I got my hands on a copy of The Adventures of Pepper
and Paula. Pistol Packin' Paula is a real life one-woman
western performer who does not star as herself in this movie,
but the movie is about her. I'm not sure exactly how much
about her it is as I have not seen it yet.

Pistol Packin' Paula works out of Enchanted Springs
Ranch in Boerne, Texas. She is the only woman in the
United States who twirls full size genuine pistols (.45 Colt
Cimarrons). She is also a stuntwoman. She handles
bullwhips and has performed as Annie Oakley. I've been a
fan of hers for a long time and a few years ago she sent me
this autographed photo.

I would love to see her show someday.

Sunday, May 10, 2015

I'm watching The Avengers in preparation for the
newest: "Avengers: Age of Ultron". I can hardly
wait to catch up with my Tony Stark. All I have to
do is get rid of this stupid cold so that I can enjoy
myself when I do go. Soon.

From my August 2012 visit to the Gene Autry Western
History Museum in Griffith Park, California. This is one
of those souvenir penny squishing machines. For fifty
pennies you can squish one penny into a souvenir of the
place you are visiting. I like 'em.

The finished product.

La la la.
It's been seven months since
I've had my favorite food.

I'd seen this picture lots of times but I don't think I ever
noticed the dirt balanced on top of the leaf until now.

Shopping for a front door.

Sunday, May 3, 2015

Back when Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides
was in the theaters, I bought this shopping bag at the
Disney Store. My photo does not capture the great
colors in this thing. I bought it thinking that I might frame
it. It's odd size has kept me from doing that, but eventually
I will get it done.
